I need to cover our playhouse ( Little Tykes log cabin) when we are not using it/ when we are not in the building. Any suggestions as to what we can use? I'd rather it was something that fits properly, so not a tarpaulin really..............

Hello all I came across the NDNA's maths online training courses on their website and wondered if anyone has used these to train staff? I was thinking of enabling some of the support staff in our setting to train via this way but wanted to know first if anyone has used them and if they are useful? You can find them here http://www.ndna.org.uk/quality-training-careers/training/online/

Love the news article on the Nursery World website re the govt. funding the opening of French nurseries here. Have a look, very funny and wouldn't be a bit surprised if Ms Truss based some new policies on it.

Anyone see this gem in the Daily Mail today? Four year olds will be tested as soon as they start primary school under sweeping government reforms of exams and league tables unveiled yesterday. From 2015 up to 600,000 will be given a baseline assessment in counting and letter and picture recognition within weeks of starting in reception class. The new tests for four year olds are being introduced to measure how well primary schools help their pupils progress until they leave at age 11. How long before this little initiative goes global I wonder? Will they really wait that long for the results?

What would a REALLY GOOD foundation stage website look like? A colleague is thinking of leaving the teaching profession and would like to set up her own resources website - so I am doing some research! All comments would be greatly appreciated!

He seems to have some sort of deep rooted 'need' to be the 'best' - all the time and at everything! This has only started very recently and it's quite difficult to know how to help him. Can I give you a couple of examples....... He has decided that he likes to sit in a certain position when we have our group time at end of session - it…
