I have an interview for a Lecturers post in a local college; I have to plan a 2 hour lesson plan and micro teach 15 minutes of it. I have never drawn up a lesson plan. I would like to quickly build up a rapport with the students (2nd year L3). I obviously want to make it as interesting and inter active as possible. So any advice, suggestions, do's and dont's will be gratefully received! The subject is To identify theory underpinning the Early Years founcation Stage Curriculum To evaluate how the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum supports child development. Thanking you all in massive anticipation!!!!!

what would you have done in this scenario 1. 2 key people in 1 room, 1 has to go on an internal training day with the company. The 2nd key person (who is also the buddy) phones in and has been signed off for the week meaning that if the other member of staff goes to the internal training there are no key people with the children. The children are all under 2. I, as manager, ask that the staff member can be excused the training as attending it it will mean no kp with the children all under 2. I am told that no she cant be excused, she has to go. Thoughts please........ 2. same room, more or less same scenario, except now there are 2 member off sick, 2 agency down and 2 t…

Saw this and made me think of some of the advice you would like to give your children if your weren't a responsible educational professional: When my son was being bullied it was sooooo hard not to tell him to hit the perpetrator with something really hard....like a chair

This week our role play area has been turned into a post office. Last year the children gathered information about our village and sent a letter to another setting. We also posted a small soft toy with some photos of the toy playing in our setting and our pen pal sent it back with info and photos of our toy in their setting. We are looking for another Pre school who would like to share this activity this year. Pls message me if you are interested - Thanks

So, the government has announced that 49 schools are trialling taking 2 year olds. I fear this is the slippery slope to the death of all groups such as mine, where we have worked hard to gain qualifications, provide great, loving care and are now to be closed down. Or is that too simple?
