what do you think?? Several villages around where I live are planning to sow red poppies ready for next year, the Centenary of The Great War, World War 1. It's a simple, low-cost tribute to the fallen of all wars and I am writing to my parish council to ask them to consider it. I am also going to sow lots in my garden and at my setting. In Flanders fields, the poppies grow..........................can they grow in YOUR neighbourhood/preschool/school/nursery ??

bbc news I find the last comment hard to agree with... He said: "This incident could happen at any school around the country." I really hope this is not true.. could have been much more serious consequences from this... shows that collection policies are important and need to be strictly followed..

Hi we are developing our role play area into a Farmers market, after discussing with the children about fruit on the trees and harvesting. We are using our shop front, baskets, boxes, some real fruits and vegetables as well as our pretend ones too, alongside bags, purses, tills, money, telephones, calculators, notepads and mark making tools. This is also linking to looking at foods/ crops that are harvested, making chocolate brownies and preparing harvest boxes for next weeks visit from our local vicar, where our parcels will be given to our local food bank, and women's refuge, as well as exploring sharing and caring. Any other suggestions. Apart from oats and beans…

Firstly, i do know that i have posted this in the wrong forum, however i wanted to post it somewhere that wasnt open to the public and couldn't find another forum that was only accesible to members only! Tonight I have received an email from a parent who would like me to remind my staff that unless their child starts a request with " Please may I have ...........", then she is not allowed the item. Further, even if she does make the request as per the parents wishes, if when the item is given to her, she does not say "thank you" the item must be taken away from her! The parent has noticed that if the child starts with "I want...." then the staff happily give an it…

Straight after school today one of my little boys came back to me with a box containing 4 delicious looking chocolate cupcakes. When I asked who they were for he said "You. Thank you for looking after me!" I was so touched. His mummy has been very anxious about him coming to school at all, worrying whether he should be full or part time, making friends, being happy, getting cuddled when he's had a bump etc and we've had lots of long conversations. That's the first time that's ever happened to me and it really made my day. Specially as I've already changed 2 pairs of dirty pants this week and I'm pretty sure there was another one today but I couldn't get the ch…
