Last night hubby was telling me about a friend of ours who has just received £9000 from Birmingham City Council due to under payment of women for years, she's due another lump soon. Hubby: will you get anything? I stared at him in confusion. Hubby: you should look into it, you might be owed loads. Me: have I ever worked for the council? Hubby: Isnt playgroup council then? 20 years involvement as mom on rota, volunteer, staff member, deputy, manager, chair of committee, surely I've told him things! In my confusion I've messed up the title, but you get the gist!

I'm sure that you all log conversations - but just in case a reminder!!! :1b Having a few 'issues' with one of my boys - he will be leaving us at the end of term - transition to Primary school. These 'issues' are an ongoing problem and have been the subject of many conversations over the past year - this is conversations with his parents and with his nursery........ Had to call mum this morning - won't go into details - not important - anyway dad was waiting to speak to me after the session - no problem at all - they are very nice people (if a little misguided ) - we had a pleasant conversation and then he said and I quote,,,,, "We really wish you had men…

Just come back after my illness and for the last 4 days have been catching up on missed posts since I was last here. While I was ill my motivation for my job just disappeared since my all clear 3 weeks ago it appears to have come back along with the biggest smile ever. My plan is to refresh my knowledge over the summer (chemo brain has gone) and start part time in Sept. if the doc allows. I have on going health problems but have ditched the wheel chair and can walk further than I have for months as long as it is flat and my husband gives a hand. So getting fighting fit is a priority along with learning my craft again any tips ? Have particularly enjoyed the gov verses c…

If you could invent a cake what would it be? No, I'm not going for the next series of the Great British Bake Off but I do love baking and recently have been experimenting with different combinations and ideas when making fairy cakes. This weekend I make chocolate peppermint ones: chocolate sponge with mint buttercream in the middle, topped with mint water icing and a quarter of an after dinner mint. A few weeks ago I made some cupcakes that had the digestive biscuit base of a cheesecake, the middle layer was the lemony bit from lemon meringue pie and the topping was the top of a Bakewell tart. I'm looking for more ideas - so, what would you combine? I've got…

Just saying hello again, really! I have been away for a while, due largely to some fairly (to me!) tumultuous events here, at base camp! I am now fairly back to myself and hoping to return to the 'Good 'ole Sue R' that used to be on here!!

Interview for nursery TA job

Hi I have not been around for a while as things have been a bit hectic. After doing a lot of soul searching I decided to hand in my notice at work after half term as I felt that I needed a new challenge in a different setting. Yesterday I was invited for an interview for a job in a local school as TA in the nursery. I am currently SENCO in a preschool. I am really excited as it the job that I really want but now I am beginning to panic about having an interview - not done one for nearly 7 years. I know I am good at my job but I am worried that nerves will get the better of me and I will just go blank when they ask me anything. I am doing lots of research about the sch…
