Asthma Uk are conducting a survey to help build a picture of how children manage their asthma over the summer holidays, so that they can reduce the risk of children having asthma attacks when they return to school. There's also a prize draw to win £100 for everyone who takes part: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/QWFDD9R

So thought would update you in that I finally have a job! I have been studying my EY PGCE and have 2 more weeks in school left followed by about a week in uni finishing off paperwork/ evidence etc. The job is at the school I'm currently teaching doing my last placement with, who heard I had an interview at another school nearby and (very unexpectedly) offered me the opportunity for an interview (for a KS1 position that had literally been confirmed as viable the previous evening) which I had in the afternoon and was shortly after offered the position! I am so so excited and cannot wait to finally have my own class come September (although having moments of panic every…

I had to share this because it made me sad and smile at the same time Poll reveals children don't know where their food comes from I accept that some children may not know which veg grows above the ground or below the ground but when they think a fish finger is made of chicken it has all gone a bot wrong somewhere along the line

Has anyone ever tried mixing plaster of Paris with PVA to give a more bondable crafting material? I am planning to use cardboard frames with polyfilla or this plaster/pva mix on, into which children can stick screws, pasta, shells, sequins, beads or whatever to make a frame for Father's Day. Then they'll draw a picture of themselves to go inside it. If I just make the plaster with water it may wet the card too much and not bond the materials as it dries. I have a lot of plaster, but no tubes of polyfilla - the cheapest of which I can find is £2 in any case! We'd need a few tubes too I think!

If anyone is reading this please can you go onto the following link to help update a local much used community hall . http://www.communitysouthwest.co.uk/hutton-scout-hut-energy-efficiency-scheme-hutton/ The Scout Hut plays an important part in village life as a place where the thriving pre school play group meet and other village functions take place like scouts, brownies and guides. It does get very cold in there as it is in a field, which is great for activities and allows more uses of the hut, but not good for keeping it warm. they have done a lot of repairs and updating the last few years, It was in a very poor state and is now usable again, but t…
