Hi We are looking at buying memory sticks for our parents to have a copy of their child's learning journey. Any ideas on how much space i need to have on the memory stick? Would 128mb be sufficient? Thanks

Hi. I am looking into purchasing software for administration purposes. I need it to deal with, funding, invoicing, occupancy, holidays, starters, leavers, birthdays and adult/child ratios. Can anyone recommend a package please? Our setting has approx 65 children on role and we are a term-time setting.

Ipods or Ipads?

We currently use Ipads in FS1 and 2 settings in our school but we find them quite cumbersome and we are interested in changing to ipods so they can be carried around on lanyards, keeping hands free. Does anyone have any advice about which ipods are the best for this purpose ie to record observations/ take photos, please? Presumably the screens need to be big enough for us to type information quickly and easily, as we currently do with the ipads (and bearing in mind that 6/8 of us are at the 'reading glasses age'!

Has anyone had any experience in working towards being paperless? We have been using Tapestry for almost a year now and it has sparked us thinking of ways to cut down on more unnecessary paperwork. We often have both computer and paper copies of things which seems silly plus it opens up the chance of one version being different to the other which can cause huge issues. The one thing we are struggling with is how we would get staff to sign documentation (such as policies, appraisal meeting documents etc) without having to print them off, get them to sign it and then scan it back in again. Any help on this would be very grateful!

I am currently writing guidance material for early educators - and would value ideas about what works in your setting in terms of computer applications and/or the wider field of learning about ICT. Also what support do you need - and are not getting? Hi everyone, i am just trying to update our ipads with some new educational games for the children and wonder if you could throw any suggestions for good apps my way ::1a I have just bought jolly phonics and phonic street but not sure what else to download, plus I don't want anything American We want maths, literacy and some SEN games for starters. what do you all have on your IPads ?? Since the iPad upgrade before last - about a month ago, I have noticed that I don't stay logged in to the forum any more. When I click my shortcut it takes me to the forum page, but I have to click to accept cookies and put my user name and password in each time. Is this something that I can change in my settings? Is it happening to anyone else?

Hello, I have been trying to import parents into Tapestry and have been following the useful tutorials on your forum to enable me to progress through this process. Unfortunately, although I create the file, import it and reach the last step in the process, I am not able to move forward. This screen shot shows that I have imported my test parent (don't worry all the information is made up). I then try to tick the box to say I want to import this parent and the tick box won't tick. I considered that maybe there was a parent already using this name, however there is not. Can anyone suggest why I cannot tick the box? I am using the Firefox browser on a Mac b…

Hello I am new to the forum. I work in an International school in Sweden as the Nursery teacher with 3 and 4 year olds. This a new topic and I am all sorted planning most areas except for ideas for ICT. I found one nice online story the children can watch on the interactive whiteboard. I have a couple of cd books for use with our cordless headphones... We have exhausted art links using 2simple. We have an interactive whiteboard, ipads, chromebooks and bee bots. No light table yet. Hoping someone will have some suggestions!
