I'm trying to insert a chart in a spreadsheet but it just won't work. This is someone else's spreadsheet, and the cells containing the data for the chart are protected since they contain formulae to perform calculations with data input elsewhere in the spreadsheet. I wonder if the cells being protected is causing the problem because when I opened a new worksheet, entered some dummy data and was able to insert a lovely bar graph with no problems! The people who wrote the spreadsheet can't be contacted until next week and its driving me mad because I want to do it NOW! I can't really upload the spreadsheet for you to look at because its not my intellectual proper…

Dear All, Could you please spare a minute to answer four questions to encourage the development of better computer software? The findings of the survey will be communicated to industry to encourage greater research and development. I am providing some software free to download from my website (no strings attached) but I am also seeking collaboration with anyone who would be interested in participating in some trials. If you are unable to contribute at this time but you have a colleague who might then please pass this email or my web details on to them. I am fully conscious of colleagues workloads and I am not asking for any extended commitment from anybody. B…

Hello, does anybody know of a sans serif font which has a number 1 without a little flick at the top and a 9 which looks like a hand-written one (like a backwards p). I want to make some new number flash-cards and I've lost my 2 and 5 so I need to make a completely new set. Thanks J

Hi All As part of my performance management I have to find out about Learning Platforms and make a list of pros and cons. So a little background... I have down loaded relevant reading materials from Becta. Are there any infant schools out there that have there learning platform up and working? How do you use it? Do you children have individual email? How did staff adapt to using it? Does it save you time or create you more work. Any other points of interest. Hope someone can help Thanks Lorna

Has anyone seen the new toolbar thing on sparklebox? Lately, every resource I want to download says 'only for toolbar users'. I have tried to download the toolbar, but my school computer won't let me, and I'm not sure my husband will be too chuffed with me doing it on his laptop either! So I was wondering if anyone could tell me what it is, what it looks like, how much room it takes up and whether you can get rid of it once you've got it. Then I might be able to convince hubby to let me have it on his laptop!

We have a laptop computer with lots of different educational games that the children can play as part of CP. I just wondered if anyone has any experience of using the computer (with no internet access) in different ways with children? In particular whether it is worth purchasing a separate lower case chunky keyboard for them to to use to write with - or getting a microphone for them to record on or any other ideas?

I was wondering if anyone has a computer set up as part of continous provision which the children can access as they want? If so how does it work? At present we only have the computer out when there is an adult available to sit at the computer with children - but that does mean it is not used as much as it could be. If it was less closely supervised there would need to be some way of children to put their names on a waiting list (there always seems to be a queue of children wanting to use it). Also, although many of the children can now use the computer independently and have good mouse skills, some can't, so is there any way round that in terms of equal opps? …
