We are in the fortunate position of equipping a new school building with interactive whiteboards. We have visited local schools using both smartboard and promethean. The head and junior classes prefer one and the infants the other!! Which are people using? Why? Thank you

Does anyone know where I could get a small computer mouse for use with Nursery children as our standard mice seem far too big for small hands? P.S. Do we use "mice" as plural for more than one mouse when referring to computers (as opposed to small furry rodents) ? It just doesn't sound right! Jackie

HI, just interested to know if preschools ( we are a private one ) qualify for elc's as schools do, as our computer was given to us refurbished and is starting to struggle. We already collect tesco vouchers but need to find ways of raising capital to upgrade our machine. As only a smallish group, find it hard to raise funds. Anyone know of any funding available to help? Thanx Kizzy x

Is A Computer Male Or Female. 1 2 3

I found this on the web and it made me smile Is A Computer Male Or Female? A teacher divided a class into two groups and them to decide if a computer should be masculine or feminine. One group was composed of women and the other of men. Both groups were asked to give four reasons for their recommendation. The group of men concluded that computers should be referred to in the feminine gender because: No one but their creator understands their internal logic. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else. Even your smallest mistakes are stored in long-term memory for later retrieval. As s…

Elc's

Hi everyone, I'm not actually new as I used to write under my own name - Jessica. Now a group of us from my school have subscribed under the above nick. Ok, as ICT co-ordinator I'm getting a little tired of spending, for the 3rd or is it 4th year running, my £3000 worth of ELC's on software. I've heard a rumour that this year they're being a little more lenient and allowing us to use them on other stuff such as IWB's. Can anyone confirm this for me please? Or has anyone found a way round this rather limiting rule. We're awash with software!! Thanks, Jess

Money To Spend!
by Guest- 6 replies

We have just been given £200 to put towards hardware or software for our preschool and it needs to be spent by June or forfeited. We currently have an old and very slow computer which struggles to run some of our software. Any ideas on how to find a reasonably priced replacement??? Alternatively, I would love to hear of any software you particularly recommend. We have children from 2 to 5 years old but the 3-5's are the main users. Thanks!
