I have been given the task to set up our new preschool tablets, I need to find good quality suitable apps to support communication and language and psed....can anyone point me in the right direction? I have been given a small budget to purchase if needed but free apps would be even better .

Hi!! This is my first post so getting to grips using this brilliant forum. I have recently started a new job as supervisor at pack-away preschool. We are based within a church and they have no internet line or connection. My manager has said they are hoping to install but I feel this may take some time! has anyone got any ideas on using a computer without actually connecting to the internet that children could access for 2-4 years? I have just purchased a digital camera for children to use and we have other resources such as light box, torches and wind up toys - is this enough technology?? I would love some feedback on what others have in there setting! Many thanks

I have a secure memory stick which has suddenly stopped working. It was absolutely fine a week ago but now when I put it into a computer (I've tried several different ones) it gives me a message about installing drive software then an icon for 'Removable drive D' appears but if I try to open or explore it I get asked to insert something into drive D. It has all my confidential info on - IEPs, data, end of year reports etc and I can't get to them. Paper copies of the summary data are at school as are electronic versions of IEPs and reports but the detail of who I gave which point to (old profile) won't be there. Hi I work in a nursery school and we need new computers!! i have been tasked with doing a bit of research into what is available etc but i really have no idea of what im looking for or need in terms of specs..... we need 6 computers, 2 for the classrooms and 4 for our computer room, 1 of which will be connected to interactive whiteboard. we have lots of cd games installed, we use the internet, you tube etc and we do lots of work in word, publisher etc....what pc's do you have?? any recommendations of where to buy from?? thanks liz

I have been given the task of researching and setting up a simple website for our setting.....I have looked at go daddy .com and seen that they have simple to use templates for setting up a page....can anyone share any other info on good value sites for someone like me who has no IT skills lol all we need is a domain and a simple way of adding photos and staff bio ect.....after reading that quite a few settings use a blog element to share info for parents on daily activity, I thought that sounded interesting too, I have a personal blog so I know what that is about. many thanks .

For about a week or so now my laptop has take it into it's head to shut down after it has been on for a little while, I have nt timed it but it does seem to be fairly random. Could it be over heating? It does feel warm to the touch, but it has for as long as I can remember. This evening I thought when I wasn't using it I would make it hibernate, but thaT hasn't helped either it has just cut out. Do you think it's terminal? Time to buy another?
