Typical that this should happen at bank holiday when the shop I need is shut! Our electric had to be switched off yesterday for about 15 minds. I didnt think to shut down the PC properly but when the power was back on the PC started up but the monitor and keyboard wont start! The screen shows the monitor logo and then I get a small screen saying 'power saving mode' but then blank with the on/off switch flashing like its on standby. Can anyone shed any light on why this might have happened? I've vacumed it and had it on all night waiting for something to happen and also switched it off for ages. Still nothing. Help

Hi, I'm making amendments to some of our policies. So, I have all policies in one folder, then I have Parent/Staff packs in other ones. What I would like to do is 'link' these together so that when I update the main policy documents the other things autimatically update too! My old admin used to do this for me but just can't work it out! I'm running vista and Office 2007. Thank you

Hi folks I am looking at building a website for our nursery and perhaps if that goes well will do the school one too. Is there anyone out there that has done this and if so have you any pointers? Apart from the obvious (internet security/photos of children etc) I was wondering if there are any particular servers/hosts that are best to use? At the moment the school website is run through ik. reciprico but it is quite difficult to work on if you are not used to it. I have already created our own web pages and really need to know about secure servers/hosts and what to look for? Are there any geeks out there who can advise in this mine field of ICT!!

Hi folks, I've been trawling the internet but have got bogged down with all the techno facts. I need help buying a printer for playgroup. It must be able to work without a PC. It must have memory card slot(s). It must be able to be connected to a camera through a USB lead. It must have easy and fairly cheap inks. Our current Epsom wont print anything if one of the four inks run out. It must be under a £100 (or thereabouts) Fairly small too because it will have to come out of the cupboard everyday. It doesnt have to be quiet or print particulary fast or of presentation quality. Any ideas?

Hi I'm looking for a CD player to play CD's in the setting, to use during drama sessions, presentations to parents and generally. We also allow children to put on CD's so it needs to be fairly robust. Can anybody recommed one or somewhere to look for one? I am looking at around £100. Thanks

Do you have any suggestions for simple games the children can play on the computer? Unfotunately we have no internet connection, in fact no telephone line in our rented hall. We have Izzy's Island & Fizzys Numbers which I can recommend as educational and fun, but think the children are beginning to get tired of them. Suggestions please?
