Hello, Have just been looking for resources for my literacy lessons next week and went on to the CBeebies website to get the Cinderella story up and found this http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/holdingpage/index.shtml Arrgggh! No date as to when it will be back on but just wondered if they had made any mention of it recently being turned off or is it a temporary thing? Seems a shame that we can't access the current website until they put the new one in place... Would be very grateful if anyone knows anything! L

I am new to the whole Promethean board thing and the school have just moved to using Activ Inspire. I am really stuggling to get to grips with the software as I was a SMARTBoard user for many years - the help notes don't help as they assume you have been using activ Primary/Studio before - can anyone help?

Activprimary3 (promethean)

Hello, I am planning on using a self registration flipchart that I downloaded off of sparklebox for ActivPrimary. However, after inputting names and grouping the children's name to the icon, I cannot manage to lock the whole image so that the children cannot do anything but move the icon across the screen. I have been used to the SMART board for the last year, and in smart you just right click and select 'lock image'. I have just been appointed as a nursery teacher and they have Promethean software which is making me want to pull my hair out! Also, How on earth do I upload my own image, or an image from the web into a flipchart on activprimary? Thank you f…

Ict Capital Grant

I'm sure it must have been mentioned before but in my rage addled and sleep deprived state I am struggling to find much mention of this on a forum search. Have any of you accessed the ICT capital grant from your LA? If so I would be very interested to hear how it has been administered in your area if you don't mind sharing. We have just had information about ours and I am starting to glow with rage at the very thought of it. It seems we are to be audited to see what we have (fair enough) and then we will be given a package of equipment. My argument is that the items listed on the audit are very specific and I don't have most of them, nor do I want them. I consider m…

Ict In Early Years
by Guest- 7 replies

Hi All. I am writing a 10,000 word dissertation on using computers/ict in early childhood and am finding it difficult to find anything academic for my literature review. I have trailed all through the sites i can think of and have looked through books but there does not seem to be anything current (e.g in the last 3-4 years) does anyone have any useful websites or names of books that would have anything linked to either the good and/or the bad sides to using computers at a young age. Thanks Darren

Does anyone use the At the Vets, Garden Centre, Post Office range of programmes from TTS? A colleague is keen to get them but from the little I know of them they seem to be for slightly older children than preschool. Are they worth getting?
