Young Rea had a wizard wheeze that we needed a forum area for discussing fundraising ideas, and to keep track of good ideas in the past. I'll move some older topics in here over the next few days, and hope you'll find it useful! :1b

with the continued pressure on funding we continue to rely on fundraising to pay for extras. However with the introduction of 30 hours we have more working parents who just aren't getting involved (weirdly it seems to me that the less people pay the more they expect for free!) We are going to have to rethink the PTA next year as we have struggled to get things going this year. We have 2 big events which we will still run ....somehow! and we do a couple of cake sales which i reckon we can achieve but i am struggling to find ideas to create the community feel i would like. Does anyone have any easy ideas or suggestions...or should i just give up now and stop attempting…

In anticipation of money being very tight next term, I would like to do a fundraiser before I lose my numbers to school. Any ideas for an easy one that raises good funds please?

So despite a long six weeks and being continually let down by the landscapers , a great local firm came to the rescue on Thursday and started work on Saturday and the garden design ( I ditched the original plan and presented my ideas on the back of an envelope !) and our fundraising over the last year has gone towards creating a whole new world in our garden. ?

HIya, i am just looking for a little advise/information on what happens in other pre-schools (committee run) with regards to fund raising and staff. I am the chair of a committee and the staff think the committee should do all fund raising. The committee are all working mums/dads - 2 of which wanted to leave but didnt because that put us below the quota for being able to open. We are a busy set of people with day jobs and all happy to commit to fund raising but want the staff to attend and support. The staff refuse to attend unless paid - not point paying them to do it as this then outweighs what we earn. We want them to attend 1 event as a "worker" 2 ev…

Hi all We are looking to do an open/fun day for our pre-school one weekend in the summer. We are mostly doing it to inform people we are there as we are in a very small village. But we are hoping to raise a little bit of money to buy some new toys for the children! We have got some of our parents on board already wanting to help. We are planning to have a bouncy castle, sale stalls, games etc. Are we allowed to do this or do we have to be registered with anywhere or anything? Thanks :1b

Hi We have been given a budget of £100 to make or sell things to accumulate more money for a charity chosen by the children. This will be a whole year project. Can't think of any original ideas. Any ideas would be welcome. Thank you.

I've been following West Midlands Police on twitter. I recently found they have a Police Property Act Fund. The proceeds of criminal activity are claimed by the Police and given out to Charity groups who apply. I've just spoken to our local police team, been given a form to fill in and told playgroup will probably get some money! Anything from a couple of hundred to £2000!!! You can only apply once in two years and like most other funding you have to have an aim, but thats fine for us, we've got an ever increasing wish list of necessary items let alone luxuries. Just thought your local police might have a similar thing you can look into

Our parents group would like to organise a race night to raise us some funds. Has anyone done this? Any hints or tips? Thanks!
