We have a day where we do children.s sports day including tombola, raffle, cake sale and refreshments, plus any other "game" or stall that is likely to raise funds for Pre-school. This year we are very short of parents willing to spend a little time helping out but they are slowly offering help don't know how many we will have. The staff are finding it hard work trying to run everything themselves!!! Can anyone think of any ideas for table top games or in fact any ideas for running a stall. Over the years we have tried lots of different things (name the teddy, guess weight of cake, how many balloons in the car, etc, etc) but this year I was hoping someone would come …

Yeah!!! We've just made our first £50 through Easyfundraising!!! For those that haven't come across this - you basically sign up and then go through their website whenever you shop on the internet (Amazon, play, M&S, argos.... hundreds of places!) and raise a certain % each time. And if you join using this link..... www.easyfundraising.org.uk/referral/24509 my setting gets a 'thank you' and a % of what you make - but you don't get any less! It's really good - and money for doing something you'd do anyway!! Every little bit helps, and I'm really chuffed to have got £50!! Have fun!

http://www.inkinddirect.org/about This idea came form Prince Charles and seems like a good one. Companies donate goods that are not perfect and In Kind Direct supply charities and anyone else with the goods. The only cost is 10% of the goods as postage and package. I'm off to have a good look round :1b

Hi Everyone Some friends of mine work for a company that make video games and, on the side, they do a lot of work for a charity called SpecialEffect. SpecialEffect are a small charity dedicated to helping children and young people with disabilities to enjoy video games. It's not just about having fun; it is also about inclusion, motivation and a better quality of life for these children and young people. I have seen the difference this charity makes and how hard my friends work to support them. Currently, they are applying for a grant from Opus Energy. All they need is people to watch their video and click the button that says "Vote For This Video". If you…

I have just found out that a decrease in our funding means that we are now 80p per child, per day worse off after Easter  We are continually fundraising to just keep afloat, which means we don't have enough money to replace resources, but as we haven't replaced any resources for over 2-3 years now many things are broken/tired. So I feel the time has come to try and access some grants, none of us staff or committee have ever done anything like this before and it all seems such a huge job! Could anybody recommend anywhere they have accessed money and where the process wasn't too difficult to get us 'in the zone'?!

In light of the revised EYFS being introduced and all the printing and photocopying that will result, I thought I'd mention that our local CC has said it will print off enough copies so each of our staff can have one. They also do any major photocopying for us. If you cant ask a CC, we also used to have printing and copying doen for us by a local estate agent. They put their logo on the pages but we didnt have to contribute anything else. Its worth asking local businesses if they might be willing to help. :1b
