I love these finger puppets on sale in Primark. The woodland and safari packs are £2.80 and the Finding Dory set were £3.50. So many ways these could be used- especially as they are essentially made for bathtime fun! I found them by the upstairs tills in the Bedford store.

Dear All, I am in a Pre-school setting and our planning is led by the chldren's interests and their next step needs as identified through observations and tracking outcomes. We have a planning system which details what we are doing each day and we highlight what is planning for next steps and what is planning for a balance across the curriculum, we also have a planning sheet which identifies that all areas of the EYFS are covered...but does anyone have a good technique or idea for how they make sure they are not leaving any area out or not covering it thoroughly? I've attached a blank template for our daily planning. Daily Plan.docx Thank you very much in…

We have been extremely fortunate in being given an interactive whiteboard with all the extras. I have never used a whiteboard before and would love some suggestions of software people would recommend.

This is a topic that has been discussed several times previously on the FSF, on 30th June NHS told all health and social care providers to remove them from their settings - I have had a look at the online advice and found the following document. There is not a definitive ruling for the early years sector - but I'm removing all of ours! The Myth of “Safety Socket Covers” - unnecessary and a hazard! This was the alert sent out by NHS

We currently pay staff by cheque. Just wondering how everyone else pays their staff? Not sure why it's not done electronically or is this because it's charity and needs two signatures?

Does anybody have any experience of setting up a nursery on school premises? I am a governor at a school who is looking to tender for a nursery using their current nursery class and outdoor area. They want to offer full day provision, possibly during school holidays too. Any ideas?

This evening we will be talking about how we support children through the various transitions they face during their Early Years journey. At the beginning, how do you manage settling in sessions - are they the same for all children? are your systems the same for all ages? Do you do home visits? Once children are with you, how do you manage changing groups / rooms / key people? In preparation for school what do you do with the children? (rather than the paperwork you complete for parents or teachers) How do you manage children who are particularly fearful of leaving you for school? How do you manage the children who 'peak too soon' and are very very ready for school dur…
