Hi I am new to using Tapestry and I was wondering if anyone could explain the points progress part for me? For example, if it records a child as having made. 3.1 pp what does that mean/correlate to? Thank you in advance!

Hi everyone, I've not been on for a while - unfortunately Facebook groups have sort of taken a-hold and I forget to check on here. I hope you are all well. I was wondering whether people use all-in-ones for outdoor play in school Nursery and Reception classes. We had a set for the children to use in the mud area, however, we found them difficult to get on and off and they actually put some children off playing. At the moment we use slightly larger waterproof coats that go over their head and fit over their coats if need be for the mud area. However, we have had the usual complaints about children going home dirty and wet. We, of course, change the children if th…

We were recently contacted by someone from Partnership for Children who are a UK based charity that produces programmes for primary schools that teaches children skills for life: how to cope with everyday difficulties, how to communicate with and get on with other people, and build self-awareness and emotional resilience. Their programmes are evidence-based and are widely used both in the UK and in over 30 countries around the world. During the Covid-19 pandemic thanks to funding from Oldham Opportunity Area they had the opportunity to develop a selection of play-based activities to also promote younger children's social and emotional development during these challen…

Hi All I work in a Nursery attached to a school. The school is going to follow the International Curriculum and we have to in Nursery aswell. Is there anyone who is also currently following this in a Nursery? Just wanted to know people's thoughts if you have any? The units do look quite boring for Early Years! Thanks! Butterbean

Can anyone tell me where I can find Surrey's guidance on writing policies and procedures? I have a friend who is registering as a childminder and I suggested I download some for her but cannot find them on the LA page.

Does anyone know if there is an amount of time we must keep signing in/out books (When parent drops or picks child) and also the daily register? Have 3 years worth that are collecting dust.

Looking for ideas of how to time manage children on the iPad. We have a sand timer but find children gathering around and having numerous turns. What works for people?

Some of our parents have said that they are no longer offered a Progress Check at Two from the Health Visitor. It seems there is a cut off date when they will no longer be offered so some of our two-year-olds have had them, but some have been told their child won't have one because of their date of birth. I hadn't heard anything about them being phased out and we're concerned that they are stopping. Has anyone heard anything about this?

We have had quite a big outbreak of Hand, Foot and Mouth, starting in our baby room but now in all three rooms. Our guidance says we shouldn't exclude so we haven't been. Some children have been kept off by parents because they're unwell but quite a few are attending. We're following hygiene procedures as you would expect but I'm worried about how many children are catching it. Does anyone exclude for HFM? What's your experience of an outbreak? Thank you in advance.
