Hi all we are just putting dates in the school diary for Reception Induction and have a query. Normally we close the school nursery for the day and the two reception classes come over and spend the day in nursery with the staff there to allow new children and parents to have their Induction. However, we have now expanded to 3 form intake and cannot fit 90 children in the Nursery - so what to do with the 90!! A possible idea was to maybe look at having the Reception Induction at the beginning of September, just before they come in. I wondered if anyone did it this way and if so how do you think it goes? Hi How do you all address the strand within 30-50 months of Technology- 'Knows that information can be retrieved from computers'? The children have access to computers but are not internet ready. We do however have on in the office which is. I wondered how you all promote this? :blink:

Hi Not sure if this is in the right section but I have been asked to observe practice and provision in our different rooms. I have never done this before and wondered if anyone has any pointers of formats I could get some hints and tips from. the reason is to ensure good practise is happening and there are consistent approaches and practise within each room. I think I need to go with an idea of what I want out of the observation and maybe prompts. Thank you

Hi all, I'm struggling a bit with my small world resources at the moment as in what to have out as 'basic provision' and what to keep back and use as enhancements. At the moment I have the train track and trains, trees and signs, people and animals. However, I'm thinking that I would like to at least add cars and dinosaurs to the basic provision. (I have to rotate the trains and cars with the Reception class at the moment - but think I should at least have cars all the time). I also read somewhere that someone provided different base materials and like the sound of this - was thinking along the lines of carpet tiles/squares of different materials for children to choose…

Hi all I am just putting together a leaflet for parents ready for our reading workshop next week. I would like to include a list of 'Top 10 must reads' for our Nursery children; books with repetitive phrases sort of thing. Anyone got any 'Top 10' books that they would include?
