If you're looking for some visual content to support your own or your team's understanding and observations of child development, you may want to check out 'Rosie's Story' on Tapestry.info. This extensive and growing series of video clips follow's Rosie regularly from day 3 of her life. Currently the videos take us up to 19 months. Each child develops uniquely, and here we share in one child's developmental journey (with parental permission). Let us know if and how you use them, and what other resources and practice you use to learn about child development.

In this podcast episode, author and researcher Suma Din explores the support community-based centres offer families. Suma explains the important role these centres play in involving parents/carers in their child’s learning and development, as well as the community and connection they provide. Do you know if there is a community centre near you? If so, how do you connect with them to support families, children's learning, and the provision at your setting?

I am doing some work for school mapping out how we teach RE across school. Whilst the locally agreed syllabus doesn't expect RE to be taught specifically prior to reception we have some strands which we are including. I am looking for suggestions of books with simple stories from different faiths - especially Islam, Christianity and Hinduism as this makes up the majority of our school population which declares a faith. I am also looking for ideas of what might be a special place for a 2-4 year old.

I enjoyed listening back to this podcast with the wonderful Sejal Payne on the "Importance of an oracy rich learning environment".Developing oracy skills supports children's learning across their development and curriculum by enabling them to articulate their thoughts and ideas, understand others' perspectives, and engage in meaningful dialogue. It is important to consider the unique needs of multilingual children in fostering oracy skills, as they may require additional support to navigate multiple languages and cultural contexts. As someone who was brought up in a bilingual household, I now fully appreciate what a great position I was in, but also how that extra support …

Hi everyone! Feel like I was somebody who had a great understanding of the EYFS and what I needed to do and have in place but since the changes I just feel like I'm struggling a lot, I tweak my curriculum regularly because it just doesn't flow right. Being on maternity leave as these changes were put in place didn't help. Would love to see examples of some other settings curriculums from 0-5 just to compare to my own? Thank you!

Hi all, As one of my subject leadership roles I am looking at our computing provision across school (from 2-7 years old). I have a set of objectives for our nursery and reception children - for nursery it is essentially knowing some basic skills in turning on and operating some ICT equipment and knowing how to operate simple equipment. I have a couple of questions and requests for any information. 1. What types of equipment might you use for this type of objective? I'm thinking so far: Alexa, turning a microwave on, using a simple program on a tablet. 2. Do any of you use beebots? We have an objective about completing a simple program on an electronic d…

A few years out of the loop and I’ve been asked if I can remember any transport songs by the lady who runs the toddler group. I’ve remembered the obvious wheels on the bus down at the station row, row, row your boat five little men in a flying saucer bouncing up and down on a big red tractor can you think of any more, please?
