Dpp Unit 2

Hi guys, Can anyone give me advice on ways for parents to participate within the setting? I have to include things that already occur, things to encourage more involvement and evaluate our setting's current parent involvement. I can't include fund raising activities and have to include things for parents who can't read and who aren't available to join in sessions during working hours. I'm finding it difficult because I work for a private school who really don't like to encourage parent involvement. Other than parent evenings, and collection of the children we barely see the parents! Any ideas welcome x

Just wondering how others have managed this....when I did my NVQ the assessor was very good and would observe me, then go over to the meeting room in the school, write up the observation, and I would sign it next time I saw her. I was very nearly never able to have immediate feedback because I am always counted in the ratio's and it would have disrupted the sessions. 2 of my staff are now doing an NVQ and the assessor came today to see one of them, and was with her for 2 hours of the session apparantly. Luckily we had a parent in and a support member of staff who is not counted in the ratio so she was able to help out. But she is coming to see the other member of s…

Hi Guys I need some advise - I am at the final stage of the unit 2 CACHE ass and my tutor has told me to put the target childs profile in the appendix and if it is too long to put in the relevant parts . I am really unsure of this as I am not sure if the way we do profiles in our setting is great and will this have an impact on my grade as compiling a profile is not the questîon but rather show evidence of progress from a profile ! Do i need to give the profile a " make over " for the assignment ? Also it is full of photos and drawings the first not being allowed to be included. help . Thanks so much C

Dip Pre-school Practice. Unit 2

HI Vicky or anyone else doing or recently done the CACHE dip in pre-school practice. Unit 2 Planning questions and provide 6 activities/experiences. The NEC lead in question says identify 6 expereinces / activites and explain for each how it meets the ELG for the youngest , middle or highest ability children in the class. If your children are aged 3 they are miles away from the ELG's which should be reached by end of Foundation stage. So you would not necessariléy be able to plan to meet the ELG atthis age but more the DM? Or am Imissing the point ! MIne are all aged 4 or 5 so they are coming up to the end of EYFS - !! FOr the CACHE question it sa…

Hi I teach in Reception and from September will have a level 3 working with me for part of the time. She has or is just about to complete level 2. She has worked in the class before, but until Sep will be anywhere people want her to help out. I did an NVQ before I started my teacher training, but know that this it is slightly different now. I am wondering what my expectations should be of her, she is 18, sometimes lacks initiative and knowing that she is going on to level 3 makes me want to boost her knowledge etc so i feel confident that she has the necessary background to 'carry off' this qualification if/when she leaves the school in July (this is a placement). …

Did you all know that NVQs in early years will no longer exist from september 2010? neither will the Certificate in Pre-school Practice or Diploma in Pre-school Practice. the new Diplomas will be more generic and cover children and young people with the level 3 one having a specific module in early years. The level 2 one however will have no specific early years content so I can't imagine wanting to employ someone with that in the future.
