My assessor has set me some questions and Im stuck on two. K&U 5) State the periods of time for which children at various stages of development can concentrate. K&U 9) Give examples of routines which are likely to promote childrens security. (Identify two childcare theorists to support your answer). I have trawled the net for hours and can only come up with concentration camps!??? or activities to promote concentration. And none of the theorists Ive found seem to work with the idea of routine. so plz help me again. I really hate these optional units!

Hi all - Just to let you know that the C11 guidance article is now available and you can find it here! I know this has been one a lot of people have waited for, and it's worth the wait. Sue R has pulled the stops out with an excellent guidance document - thanks Sue.

It's a while since I assessed Level 2 & I'm struggling to understand what this PC actually means. The tutor says that a direct observation is needed but I'm struggling to understand what it's getting at! Do I feel dense or what! 'Respect for the children's own and others' cultural backgrounds and requirements for hygiene are suitably reinforced.' Can someone enlighten me please? I could come up with an answer for a reflective account, but how to do a D/O when we only have 1 child from an ethnic minority is puzzling me!

Hello everyone, Advice please. We have a child who is very interested in the differences between boys and girls. Does anyone know of any suitable books or articles that parents (and nursery) can use to explore and discuss differences. Parents would appreciate articles for their own information as well as for shrin with child.I had a book some years ago called The Body Book but I think it was for slightly older children. I'm looking for something that places the emphasis on respecting own and others bodies and personal space. Must emphasise that the child just appears to be very curious. Barb
