As ICT is a rapidly developing and changing area how you will keep up to date in order to provide the best service to children and their families The only thing that comes to mind, is that when something bigger and better comes out than the one you've got, you get a new one! But that can't be what it means? Thanks

Does whistle blowing include telling other's "higher up" in the hierachy in the setting, or is it just about reporting concerns that are being ignored? My brains given up now, and everything is all merging into one.

I just have a query which I would like to raise in the hope that someone can tell me if I'm making a mountain out of a molehill... MrsWeasley's assessor has asked to be present at her forthcoming appraisal as an observer. I'm not clear about what criteria/standards she is hoping to assess against, but I feel very uncomfortable about an outsider sitting in on the appraisal. The assessor hasn't spoken to me directly about it, so I haven't had the chance to speak to her. So before I do this, I need to know whether this is standard practice? Do your apprentices have a training package? We have a few people working towards their NVQ2 etc... And I’m thinking about how we can record when they are confident at doing certain tasks. And giving them a goal to reach every month. By doing this I am hoping the staff will gain more experience rather than expecting the qualified staff to do everything and I will be able to keep an eye a bit more on what they can and cannot do. If any one does use one I would be very interested in having a look. I am also thinking about doing the same kind of thing with work experience pupils. Thanks Noodles

Please can someone point me in the direction of where I can download the new NVQ3 childcare standards. I've been trawling the net for a while and can't find them. One of my staff is just starting hers and we'd like to make a start on things before her pack arrives - which could be a month away!

I've got some Knowledge Points that have 2 or 3 direct observations down as evidence.. do I need to do a written piece about it too? Or is the direct observation enough? Thanks
