Hi Everyone I am in my second year of my foundation degree and on a module comparing another country against England. I thought it would be interesting to do Barbados as I have read certain things and am wondering why. One namely is the claimed literacy rate of 98%. I have a relative out there so am exploring information that way with questionaires and waiting to hear from the ministry of education there. Two weeks until i start foundation degree and feeling excited and a bit apprehensive! Can anyone shed any light on the role of the mentor, ie commitment/time etc, we are a pre-school within school grounds and I was thinking of asking the reception teacher as I have a good working relationship with her. However I also know she is very busy and don't want to add to her workload/be a burden!! There isn't anyone I can ask at work as I am the manager/owner and I'm not sure if a level 3 could be my mentor for a foundation degree (wouldn't make much sense!!). Kris

Hi all I have just had a meeting with a tutor, regarding the completion of my FDEY (although she said its the FD in early childhood studies now) I completed mine, to level 4, three years a go. I had a break from study due to personal circumstances. Anyway, i am now thinking of completing it and have been told which modules i would need to do. There are 5 in total, and i can APEL past modules, which means i would join the year 3 students. The modules i need to do are level 5, so i was wondering what the difference is between level 4 and level 5, regarding difficulty. I feel a bit apprehensive due to me not studying for some time. How have you all found the level 5 …

Me again when I have finished E230 I will have completed foundation degree. My next step is EYPS long pathway but this involves KE312 and an exam. I am so scared and really put off. There is no way round it so i think I am going to have to bite the bullet and do it. Any words of wisdom. Buttercup
