Hi all, I am just in the process of completing my last assignment for my foundation degree and was wondering if I you guys could help me out. I decided to be brave and conduct my research on Early Years Mathematics. The reason I chose this subject was because I recently attended a managers meeting organised by our LA and they mentioned that the statistics from school transition forms show that attainment levels for PSRN is still falling behind other subject areas. The way we are expected to complete this action research project is to present it as a proposal and not actually do the action research. Apparently Bournemouth Uni are worried that if we carry out the …

PLEASE HELP! I'm trying (and largely failing at the moment) to write a report on what is an appropriate Early Years curriculum and I would like to say that it should include SST and to justify my assertion that you can't plan children's learning in advance. The problem is that by the time the University have sorted out library access for me the assignment will be overdue so I have to do this without the books on the reading list or e-books! Does anyone have a referenced quote or know of a text available online I can use to find a quote which says that SST is important? Thanks in advance.

I have just been promoted at my workplace... from nursery practitioner in preschool to room leader in toddlers. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on the foundation degree as I want to be a reception class teacher, and was wondering about funding etc... My manager was talking about doing the degree not through college but where the assessor comes to you does anyone know anything about this as i want to research into it but don't know which providers provide this. Many Thanks Amy

Hi, I'm working full time in foundation and am interested in signing up for a foundation degree. I've been looking at studying through OU and was wondering what kind of experiences people have had taking this course instead of studying at college/uni. Also as I know pretty much nothing about OU I'd like to know if all work is emailed of if I'd have to go into a learning centre. Thanks in advance

Which I have approx 1400 words done so far. Hi everyone, I have just started the TMA 1 for E230 and I am going round and round and round in circles!!! I have done my audits and basically have realised that my knowledge is horrendous in Maths & science! How on earth do i recall and write about positive and negative experiences in these subjects whilst also being critical in 1000 words. All I want to put is " my study has confirmed how crap my knowledge is in both Mathematics and in science!!!!!" I have read and read the guidance and I seriously want to put my head in my oven!! My tutorials are miles away and hardly anyone uses the forum on OU. Any help would be much appreciated M…

Hello everyone, i am studying E214 (Was known as E243) for one of my Esaays i have to Choose two resources and examine the contrasting models. The type of model should be apparent . When choosing the materials, examine ways in which the issues are discussed. Examine the thinking behind them and consider the ways in which the language and ideas used represent the particular model. They should offer clear examples of contrasting ways of representing diversity, such as a medical/deficit versus a rights approach.Explore the way in which the ideas/topics are presented and what this tells us about the ways in which the authors of the resources view the people they are writi…
