Professional Development Day

Thought I'd share details of a 'training' event in October 2012. I don't know if anyone has heard of 'Reflections Nursery and Forest School in Worthing ? Not sure, how I heard of them, but I've heard good things about their practice. They are an Ofsted graded 'outstanding' nursery who run occasional development days. Their last one was in June, which I noticed too late to book myself onto. They have another professional development day planned for Saturday 20th October entitled "Children, creativity and outdoor learning" - looking at the work of 'Reflections' and referring to the Reggio Emilia approach (which they embrace - having Ateliers a' la Reggio). Also get …

Hi I have been invited to an assessment day for a lecturer's position at a local college. The course of the day will include discussions, reflections and planning. Any ideas of personal qualities the assessment team will be looking for? I'm thinking of input to the discussions, interactions with others, leadership skills etc. Do any of you have any other ideas, thoughts, suggestions, inside information please? I really, really, really, really, really want this job!! TIA X

Does anyone know if the paediatric 12 hour training has to be all classroom based. I have found trainers who offer 6 hours online and 6 hours practical.

Hi. I am not sure whether or not this is the right place for this thread, so apologies if it isn't! I found out today I have an interview for an EYFS Leader job after the Easter holidays. One of the things they have said is that if you have a Portfolio, then feel free to bring it along. I no longer have a portfolio (as I have been at the same school since being an NQT) but figured that if they've mentioned them, then it would be a good idea for me to bring one along. I was thinking of including the following: - photos of my learning environment both inside and outside - examples of next steps, enhanced provision plans and daily plans - data and data reports - exa…

Not even sure if I'm in the right place here but I'm trying to concoct some example learning journeys (not long ones) for my students to use in activities in class. Rather than reinventing the wheel and having already deleted the anonymous ones I'd had permission to share from previous parents in a paperwork purge, I turned to Google. I found two great examples on the Suffolk website http://www.suffolklearning.co.uk/3-11-learning-teaching/early-years/early-years-foundation-stage but I could do with 2 or 3 more and I wondered if anyone had seen any in other places they could direct me to. I want to use them for students to analyse in terms of linking observations and ass…

Was in town and saw our local college had a 'shop' there advertising these +24 learning loans... Getting a Loan doesn’t depend on your household income and there’s no credit check. You won’t have to pay anything back until you’re earning over £21,000 a year. Once you earn over this amount you pay back 9% of the earnings you receive above this figure. lots of info in the links below... may help many of you who have mature helpers wanting to train in childcare.. https://nationalcareersservice.direct.gov.uk/advice/courses/funding/Pages/24AdvancedLearningLoans.aspx https://www.gov.uk/advanced-learning-loans/overview http://www.slc.co.uk/media/latest-news/24p…

Hello you wonderful people I am looking for a little advice. I am currently working in FS and have been for the past 10 years. I enjoy it, but I am feeling a bit jaded and I would really like something to get my brain working again. I cant afford to take on a second degree course but there must be something out there, I just don't knowwhere to look. I am really interested in literacy and communication, but anything really. Sorry if this has any mistakes in, my computer has just died and I am writing this on my phone (with rubbish eyesight) All suggestions greatly received
