This might be a longshot but I am wondering if there are any nurseries in Kent, if possible East Kent, that follow Forest School ideals and principles, either fully or in part, that would be very kind and willing to let me spend a day or half day with them to observe. I am asking as we are able to have access to a wooded area about 10 minutes away from the setting and I would like to see what, if any elements of Forest School we could incorporate. Tahnk you

Fortunately I am updating my First Aid before the revised EYFS goes live, but the topic of how practitioners find out who are 'Local Authority Approved' Training Providers has been raised. But if they are still selling their own courses (through Adult Learning Alliance in our area) they may not want to promote other providers. So, how will you find out from whom you can accept training and know that you're paying a fair price? Interesting times.…

I have been teaching for twenty something years. I have a B.A. and a PGCE awarded in 1986 and 1987. They are my teaching qualifications. QTS did not exist, although there was a one year probationary period with no certification when you completed it. On the EYPS application form you have to indicate if you have QTS. I didn't tick it because strictly speaking I don't hold it. For interview I have to give proof of achieving O level English and Maths which is long lost. I took those in 1978. The provider is insisting I have to get copies which costs a fortune but hey ho. To begin a PGCE you have to have O level Maths and English, grade c or above but that is not …

Hello Is there anyone who can advise me about courses for speech and language therapy? I am a qualified teacher, working in a nursery unit. I am very interested in speech and language development in the early years and would like to do a 'distance learning' course in speech and language therapy. I am too old to retrain as a SaLT but would like to do a course which would give me a much deeper understanding of speech and language difficulties in the early years. This would of course help me in my work, but also satisfy my yearning to know more (I would not attempt to assess children, advise parents or take over the role of the SaLT!). I have done Elklan training and t…

Hi all The Nursery I work in has 2 owners/managers one is Level 6 and one is Level 3, I think I have read somewhere or heard somewhere that all Managers need a certain level of qualification by 2015 but cannot now find anything to back this up. Am I right in thinking this or have I dreamt it?? Thanks
