Hi everyone I have considered this for a while and think that in terms of my own personal development this is something I would like to progress into next. Now I am an EYP with over 6 years experience of working in a variety of settings but not sure what my next steps need to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated? Or can anyone recommend a course? Many thanks

Hello everyone, well after finishing my EY degree I have pondered on my next challenge and probably always was going to try to achieve QTS - so today I signed up for my bug-bearing hold ups in life - GCSE science and Maths - I managed my nursery whilst doing the degree so I guess I can do these two annoyances - anyone doneit this way? I can't apply for PGCE until I have them so here I go again on the study train - choo choo! Any advice, comments welcomed

Hi a few months ago I applied for a lecturing post, was invited for the interview, but unfortunately I couldn't make it and heard nothing more. Yesterday I received a telephone call from the college asking me if I was still interested, which I am, and could I go for an interview/chat on Monday afternoon, which I can! I am a qualified assessor and have worked as a full time assessor so I am used to mentoring learners and also mentoring/advising in the workplace and I have done some, not much teaching, (childminding courses and at staff meetings) however I have never been interviewed for a lecturing/teaching position. Therefore I want to ask advice from you lovely …

Is anyone going to the CSF Approach Seminar in Birmingham on Wednesday 7th September? I've just had an email about it and had completely forgotten about it. Looks very interesting! I gather it has been very oversubscribed so I was lucky to get a place. Would be good to meet up with any FSFers who might be going.

Hi everyone... So I have a question, and I know I'm just being a great big moo-cow here but I'm really annoyed... My brother's girlfriend has a degree in illustration or something and because she didn't get the results that she wanted or needed, she decided to appeal it... The appeal was declined and so she started sniffing around and asking what I do (BA (hons) Early Childhood Studies). She then decided that she wanted to be a teach and volunteered at a local primary school... dunno what happened with that because now she's "working" in nurseries. Have I mentioned that she has no qualifications in childcare? And is working (getting paid as well I believe)…

I have been seriously looking into the Foundation Degree and have a conditional offer on the table! However I have been along to the college for an informal chat and now really not sure if it's for me! I own my Pre-School and I am in the ratio 4 days a week (1 day paperwork), the college have said that I would need to attend 2 days a week plus meet up with my group outside of college plus study time of about 15 hours a week!! Taking into account I would need to put additional staff in place (extra money to pay out!) plus find the time to study/meet up with group/pre-school paperwork I just cant see how it is possible So if not the degree than what next? I have my NVQ3 …

Hi there, Is there anyone out there near Oxford who would be interested in attending the above training course with my setting? If we can 'recruit' a few more people then the cost works out at £26 per person. Course lasts about 1 1/2 hours. PM me if you might be interested! Thank you.
