hi, i need some advice. Im from ireland but living in london almost three years now. I have a level 2, cache level 3 and a BA Early Childhood honours degree (2:1, all my work paid off) anyhow, like i said, here 3 years and have experience in private day care nursery. I am thinking of going into the teaching such as reception teacher. my problem is i dont have the necessary BIOLOGY in my leaving cert exams(equilvant to gcse/alevels). why i need biology is doubt me. i am confuse about the nursery teacher jobs?do i need a teaching degree like the PGCE?What is QTS?Why wont the EYPS be enough to qualify to be a nursery teacher?i was looking into doing the eyps but at the minu…

hi all ...i've been to a training today and have come out in rather a bad mood ...i'm really fed up of going to trainings that are not pitched at the right level or (often) at the early years sector. Our borough have been charging us for training ...todays course £65 for a morning...i have to pay this, my wages and someone to cover me at the setting so it ends up as an expensive option.i wouldn't mind if i had learnt anything! Although our borough have today announced they have decided to fund the courses in the short term i do not think this will continue ....so now i can get to the point ......does anyone have any recommendations for training courses in the south? is th…

As part of our CPD, our Uni has got funding to support EYPs to do the first unit of this course in September. Whislt my managerial skills definitely need a boost, I am wondering if I want to take advantage of this offer? There's loads of different units to choose from, and the number of units you complete successfully will dictate what level of award you can achieve. Has anyone done this course, and could they recommend it? Maz

Am hoping someone could help me abit, I have an interview on Friday for the foundation degree, they said there would be tests and group work involved, to try and make myself feel better I Asked a friend who is now doing her PGCE at the same uni aout her interview and now i am FREAKED out LOL. I don't want to come across an air head here (I already have a degree in another subject) but she said they had to talk about sats and KS1 in addition to the EYFS and ECM....
