Have just had my invoice for Hi-Vis vests I ordered. The children we have are aged 2yrs - 5yrs and we ordered size 4/6 years and they fit great. Just wanted to let others know that from 24th May - 31st December 2007 the company are now selling vests at 95p each with no V.A.T and they will add Free coloured embroided school logo on to them. Orders under £30 (excluding vat) carry a £6 processing fee. The comany is Suppliers for Industry Ltd and can be found on the following website www.suppliesforindustry.co.uk or you can contact them on 0845 120 80 91 or fax 0845 120 80 92. Hope someone can benefit from this info.

Hi all I have a little girl in my Reception class who has taken items from other children 3 times now! This time she took a childs snack and put it in her school book bag. She never owns up and definately knows she is doing wrong. Her parents are coming in to see me tomorrow I think they have spoken to other parents and may challenge the way I handled the situation. has anyone come across this situation before?

High Visability Vests

Does anyone know where you can buy high visability vests for young children. The children we have are 2 half years to rising fives. We have lots of visits planned for next half term and I thought it would be a good idea if all of the children had their own vest. But where do you get them from and how much are they.

Hi everyone, We will be working around the topic of transportation within the next 3 weeks. The 1st week will be just general transportation, the 2nd week all about "The garage" and the 3rd week all about trains. It is the 1st time we will do "The garage". We will visit the garage nearby us and also see the Teacher's TV video. We will also have a 'Transportation Day' for all pre-school, and my class will give ideas to set up an area like that of a garage. What else can we do? I do wish to cover all the 6 areas for this specific topic, being realistic that I work alone with my group. All ideas and suggestions are very welcome !

My students are interested in making masks and have been doing so as part of their free play within the topics that we have been studying. Do you think it would be worth to make a topic on "Masks"? I don't know if I would be able to cover the 6 areas .

I need some ideas on tried and tested problem solving activities. Table top preferably, for 1-2 children at a time to think about. The only one I've got is the one about the farmer who needs to get the chicken, fox and corn across the river in a boat. The boat only holds the farmer and one other thing but he cant leave the fox with the chicken or the chicken with the corn. Any other similar activities will be welcome.

Whilst posting in the 'slap cheek' thread, I had a thought and wondered if the following would be both feasible and useful...? There seems to be a steady influx of questions on different medical conditions, exclusion periods, advice and guidance to give to parents etc... and I wondered if a 'medical' thread could be started or be a 'pinned' thread in an appropriate thread. It would save repeated questions being asked and could include requests for and examples of sick child policies, exclusion period info and be used as being a valuable resource for asking questions when a new situation arises, like the slap cheek example. I appreciate that we are not medical…

Had the stupid idea to suggest to foundation children that they come to school dressed on an animal theme on Friday. It's Children in need and we've been doing lots of things about animals this week. Unfortunately, the staff said we'd dress up as well. Any suggestions for me that is quick and cheap that i can put together by Friday AM. HELP !!!!!
