Spidergrams

Am trying to draw up about 6 spidergrams - with anything between 6 - 9 legs/arrowed lines off it - is there a site out there that anyone has come across that you can just import them. My skills only seem to go to creating text boxes and arrows to each but can never seem to get them to look symmetrical/even bit of a botch up really without taking hours to perfect it - there must be an easier way of doing this - please someone - help me. I have got much better things to do with my time. Thanks in advance NIkki

Has anyone experience of using a bee-bot and what do you think? For those of you who don`t have a clue what I mean it is a remote control bee what early years children can programme like a roamer. Have a look www.bee-bot.co.uk £39.99 or www.tts-group.co.uk

Poss Of New Sub-forum For Ni?
by Guest- 6 replies
Hi Steve I just wanted to ask you (or anyone else) what you thought about the possibility of starting a new sub-forum for people for Northern Ireland. It was just something I was thinking about as NI is slightly different in some policies and practice - it might be useful if anyone was interested. Anyway, just a thought - I'm not sure if there are even many members from NI, because I know in college and out on Teaching practice no one has ever heard of it - until I spread the work of course Anyway, let me know what you think - if it was listed as a sub forum it might entice more people to join maybe. Anyway - getting carried away G.

We have had woodwork at Pre-school - but only a couple of times. I love it and so do the children. The problem is that the children find it very hard to bang nails into the wood. I cut different lengths of wood before-hand .........and invariably when the children take home their piece of woodwork, parents say 'oh, I like the cross', the children reply 'it's supposed to be an aeroplane!!!! Apart from balsa wood, does anyone know of anything that we could use? (Not pumpkins as I remember someone using last year, though) Thanks Sue J

Spelling Tests
by Guest- 4 replies

We are starting spelling tests this term with year 1. I hate the word test but it has to be done. Because it is my first year in year I wondered if any year 1 teachers could give me some advice on how to make the tests more fun for the children. Do you do it as a whole class or in small groups etc. How many spellings do you give and how do you mark them? Also when children write their news do you do that as a whole class activity etc. I am asking this because i do not have a full time assistant and this year i have a lot of children who need a lot of support so it is very hard for me to give individual attention.
