Hi everyone, for the last 3 or 4 years I've had colourful balloon shapes, one for each month, then put the children's faces (complete with party hats!) and the number on the appropriate month. I'm fed up of that idea now and want to do something different but my mind's blank. Please can you tell me how you do yours or any ideas you've got. Thankoo

"Some of us may have fond memories of photocopying parts of our anatomy in the office in days gone by (do people still do that?), but the fun and games don’t end there, as the humble domestic scanner is an important piece of art equipment these days." so starts this idea on using a scanner for art projects but this site give so much more..well worth an explore..

What To Do For My Interview
by Guest- 2 replies

I have an interview and I have to read a book to 15 reception children and then do a follow up numeracy or literacy activity with 4 children. I was planning to read Handa's surprise then either writing a list of the animals that took the fruit or making wanted posters for the animals. What does anyone think? I really want this job and want to do the best I can so any feedback would be great. Thanks

Hi all, I could really use some help... I am currently in my second year of study for a BA (hons) in Early childhood studies and I am researching and planning for the children's health and well being module. We have to design, emplement and critcally eveluate a health promotion acivity to promote children's well being. ANY IDEAS? Linking to this activity we need to consider ethical difficulties, role of the practitioner and child, impact on health and development and public policy. Any activity ideas, or suggestion srelating to any of the above would be MUCH APPRECIATED! Thanks

A bit of a plea for help. After all the troubles our school has had we now have our old associate head back until at least the end of the accademic year. He is fab so I am lots happier. He is coming round next week to do some observations which is fine and he is very non threatening etc and he will make it a positive experience. Trouble is my confidence has got so low that I really need things to go well so i can get back to my 'normal' teaching style with enthusiasm again. The observation is in literacy and I want something with a bit of wow to kickstart me again. Loved the Jack & beanstalk ideas from the forum but my jobshare did Jack on world book day. What can I do…

Hi all we have a number of parents in the setting at the moment who would like their two years olds to be writing there names and to be doing more formal learning. I would like to make a display which states the stages a child needs to go through before they are ready to write. If anyone could sent me in the right direction of where to look I would be most grateful. Also If this is not in the right area then please feel free to move the post. thank you wellerkaren

Hi, I work at a large infant school in Shirebrook, Derbyshire. We are very lucky in that we have a lot a land. We have already developed our inside space; zoning our rooms into the 6 areas of learning where children can self-select resources. We plan to do the same outside. We have a large area separate from the rest of the school with trees, grass, tarmac and 2 sheltered verandas. We plan to develop the outside area over the coming months and myself and another member of the FS teaching staff have been appointed as 'leaders' for this. We are looking to visit some setting wher…
