Just had an email from Sainsbury's to say they aren't running their Active Kids scheme any more, but if you have banked any vouchers, you can still use them, so get looking to see what you can 'spend' them on

During a parent group meeting re fundraising some parents asked if we could make a Gift for Granny, which Parents could then buy......... As we do not like Fluffy Duck activities can anyone think of something 'saleable', unique and quick!! We have 30 children!! Think I might prefer the old jumble sale.... : /

The road safety charity 'Brake' have a Beep Beep! day on 22nd November. Beep Beep! days are a great opportunity for early years educators to introduce children to road safety basics, with fun activities and resources provided by Brake. Everyone that registers will receive a free e-resource pack filled with fun activities, posters and certificates, or you can receive a bumper pack for just £12.60, per 50 children! If you want further details or would like to download some free resources you can do so from the Brake website: Brake.org.uk

Hello all has anyone got any suggestions for where we can apply for a grant to fund a project we want to do relating to Communication and Language within EY? Of course I am looking at the National Lottery's 'Awards for All' but wondered if there was anything else out there?

I have been asked to post this on behalf of an FSF member! "The primary school we are sited on has been lucky enough to be included in the Tesco, Febreze and Terracycle competition to win a a fantastic piece of much needed playground equipment that would also benefit our children greatly. I would be so grateful if my fsf friends could vote for Stalbridge Primary School. It takes seconds and no need to log into to email accounts to register your votes. Thank you so much ...an fsf member" Vote here

We held a tombola last week to raise money for Comic Relief. We were given a very generous prize of a £20 voucher for a local restaurant but received it too late to add it to the tombola. Does anyone have any quick and easy ideas to raise a bit more money with the voucher as a prize? Thanks in advance!

Hi, does anyone out there know about a registered charity being able to claim back, or not pay VAT? We are looking to buy a new easel and it's been suggested to us, by the organisation who is donating the finances for the purchase, that as a charity we are exempt from VAT. Could anyone shed some light on this? Is it correct, and if so, how do we go about it?

I am the leader of a charity run pre school, we have a new committee with the wife as chair and husband as treasurer. They appear to be running it as a directorship not committee, ' I'm all for committee but ' to quote a recent email comment. The decisions made so far haven't been great, we have changed accountant to save money however a member of the pre school team who is working with us after running her own pre school is having to train them how to do the wages. She has rushed a decision through via email/text/Facebook, with only her own views,on putting somebody else's logo on the children's tops as they want to give us £160 a year but want something in return. …

Hi, the local preschool has been offered some sponsorship for the children preschool tops, in return for a small logo of theirs. It's a cafe/deli place in town. Chair person is all hung go for it, but manager isn't overly happy. What are your thoughts? She wants to know what I think of the idea this evening!
