In order to keep our customers in the loop, we produce a monthly Tapestry newsletter that includes information about new features, what updates have been made to Tapestry and of course, lots of helpful hints and tricks. However, we appreciate that not everyone wants to receive communication from us in this way, so this tutorial will talk you through how you can unsubscribe from our mailing list, or subscribe to it if you decide to sign up! If you choose to subscribe, the newsletter will be delivered to the email address linked to your Tapestry account and your first and last name will be saved on the mailing list, which is managed on our behalf by a company called…

To find the Term Progress page, first select ‘Tracking’ (1) from the top menu, choose the 'Cherry Garden' framework (2), and then select ‘Term Progress’ from the ‘Analysis’ section (3): You will then be able to select a Year (1), a Period (2), a Child (3) and a Strand (4). Once you have made these selections, you will be able to see the progress the child has made in the chosen period. In the example above, Anna has made progress from her baseline assessment in Branches 2 and 3. The black arrows (5) are pointing to the ‘best fit’ judgement. The best fit is the lowest branch where a child has achieved less than 80%…

Once you have created folders and uploaded files (you can learn all about this here), you might need to delete either of these eventually. Please note that whilst it is possible to delete files both individually or in bulk, you can only delete folders one at a time. We will look into all of these options. Do also bear in mind that, by default, all staff members will be able to move, edit and delete documents. If you prefer your staff members not to be able to delete documents, you can change the permissions as explained in this tutorial here. We'll start by looking at deleting files and folders one at a time. To skip to the section on deleting files in bul…

The Cherry Garden Branch Maps are organised into six main curriculum areas. Each of these areas is then broken into various ‘Strands’. The Communication, Language and Literacy Branch Map for example, contains four strands: It is possible to see progress information for each of these strands in the ‘Stand Scores’ page on Tapestry. First select ‘Tracking’ (1) at the top of the screen, and ensuring the ‘Cherry Garden’ Framework is selected, click on ‘Individual View’ (2) under the ‘Strand Scores’ heading. At this point you can select a year and a period, as well as a child who is being assessed using the Cherry Garden fr…

The Cherry Garden Orchard is the place where you can view a graphical representation of the progress a child has made if they are being assessed against the Cherry Garden Branch Maps Framework. Please note, if you would like to use the Cherry Garden Orchard graphic, we recommend having 3 refinements enabled on your account and assigning the third refinement when a child is secure in a statement. Although statements with any refinements will show up on the flower, only statements assessed with the third refinement will appear on the tree. To see how to set up Cherry Garden refinements on your account, you can take a look at this tutorial. To view a child’s Orch…

This tutorial will talk you through how to set up the Documents feature on Tapestry. I’ll explain how to enable it and how to set user permissions for it. The Documents feature will allow you to upload documents to your Tapestry account and share these with staff and relatives. This feature will help you manage your time efficiently, as you no longer will need to spend time providing documents to relatives, and relatives will have an area to refer to when in search of documents, such as security policies. By default, this feature will be enabled in your account. But if you have previously disabled the feature, you can enable it again at any point. For this, you'…

When you view a reflection in Tapestry, you will be able to see everything that has contributed to it, from what prompted it, to the thoughts you have had, the ideas of others, and the impact that you can see in your own practice as well as in your setting. You can view a reflection by clicking on Reflections (1) at the top of your Tapestry screen and then selecting the one you would like to see (2). You can search for specific reflections using a variety of categories through the Filter and Sort bar (3). When you click on this a pop-up window will open for you, allowing you to make your sort choices. Now you are viewing a saved reflection…
