This tutorial talks you through how to set up Reflections on your Tapestry package. Reflective practice ensures educators are always learning. Tapestry Reflections allows you to gather your thoughts, information, research and observations and to record the journey you are taking with your setting, your children and their families. You can make notes, link reflections and observations together and organise your reflections with 'flags'. We'll start by looking at how to enable the Reflections feature. To skip to the section on enabling flag sets to use with Reflections, click here. Setting up Reflections To enable Reflections, you will need to b…

Please note: You can now pay your invoices and renewals directly through Tapestry! Please see our tutorial here on how to renew your account and pay invoices through Tapestry. If you want to pay an invoice through your FSF account you will firstly need to login to it. You can do this by going to eyfs.info and clicking on the 'Sign In' option in the top right-hand corner. This will bring up a drop-down box where you can input your username or email and password (1). Once you've done this you just need to click on the 'Sign In' button (2). Please note this tutorial is for the EYFSP GLD screen based on the previous ELGs. If you require the EYFSP GLD screen for the new ELGs, you can take a look at this tutorial. You can use the EYFSP GLD screen on Tapestry to see whether individual children or a group of a children have reached the Good Level of Development across the areas of PSED, CL, PD, L and M. You can also see on this screen the overall percentage of children that have achieved it. On this screen a child is considered as achieving GLD if they are at "Expected" or "Exceeding" across all aspects in the 5 areas. Whether a child is expected or exceeding is calculated on our EYFSP screen, this tu…

On Tapestry you can track Pre-Key Stage 1/2 assessments through the Statements screens. You can do this for individual children or for groups of children - I'll go through both in this tutorial. To access both screens you just need to click on the 'Tracking' tab at the top of the screen (1), select 'PKS1/2' from the frameworks menu (2) and then choose either the 'Individual View' or 'Group View' buttons in the 'Statements' section (3). I'm going to start by looking at the Individual View. To skip to the section on the Group View, click here. Individual View Statements Screen Once on this page you will need to choose a period…

Before you can start assessing with the Pre-Key Stage 1 and 2 framework, you will need to enable it on your account. To do this a manager just needs to click on their name in the top right-hand corner of the screen (1) and select 'Control Panel' from the drop-down (2). Once on the Control Panel, you just need to select 'Settings' (3) and then 'Assessments' from that drop-down (4). On the Assessments page you will need to find the option 'Pre-key Stage One/Two' and once you do, click on the 'Configure' button (5). You'll then be presented with a pop-up box where you choose to enable it (1) and whether you want relatives to be able to see th…

On the new iOS and Android apps it is possible for a user to receive push notifications on a device. Please note, these new apps are separate to the original app and will need to be downloaded separately. Therefore it's not possible to upgrade the original app to them, you will need to download them from the App/Play store. You can see this article for information about downloading the iOS version and this one for information about the Android version. In this tutorial we will help you work out why a staff member or relative isn't receiving push notifications. Please note it is designed for managers on Tapestry, as it involves checking some settings within the Contr…

It's really easy to change any of your email, password and PIN within the new Android app. To do this you just need to login and select where it says 'You' in the top left-hand corner. On the next page you just need to select change your email, password or PIN, depending on what it is that you want to change. For this tutorial I have selected the change email option; you can see below what this looks like. Here I just need to enter my new email (1), confirm this (2), enter my password (3) and then save (4). And that's all you need to do! Please note, to be able to change any of your email, password or PIN you…

On the new Android app it is possible for you to access it and add observations whilst being offline, if your child's setting have allowed this. Please note that this authenticates PIN logins that have already been enabled on the device whilst you have connection. As such, it's not possible to login with an email and password whilst offline. To skip to the section of this tutorial on what happens if you change your PIN while offline mode is enabled, click here. For you as a relative to use this feature, you must be permitted by the setting (school, nursery, childminder etc.) that set you up with an account. If they have not given you permission, you will not be…

On the new Android app it is now possible to receive push notifications on a specific device, if your child's setting allows this. For you as a relative to use this feature, you must be permitted by the setting (school, nursery, childminder etc.) that set you up with an account. If they have not given you permission, you will not be able to receive push notifications on any device. If they have permitted this then you just need to enable it on your end to start receiving them. This needs to be done on a per device basis, we don't recommend enabling it on any devices that you share with anyone else. To enable push notifications you just need to login …

It's really easy to change your email, password or PIN on the new Tapestry iOS app. Please note, the new app is a separate one to the original, so you will need to ensure you have downloaded this. In the App store it's titled 'Tapestry Journal 2'. If you still have the original app, this will show up as grey, so you are able to see the difference. To change either your email, password or PIN, you just need to login and select where it says 'You' in the top left-hand corner. On the next page you just need to select change your email, password or PIN, depending on what it is that you want to change. For this tut…
