Please note that this tutorial is about tracking groups of children for the old EYFS. For information about tracking screens for groups for the new EYFS 2021, please click here. For this tutorial, we will deal with showing attainment for groups in two different ways, the first way will show the attainment scores for individual children collectively as a group. The second way will show you the averages scores for groups of children where you will not be able to see the individual scores for the children within the group. On each group view screen, the groups you will be presented with are all the pre-set groups that Tapestry creates for you e.g. boys, girl…

Although we work tirelessly to make everything bright and shiny, sometimes apps and the internet can get in a bit of tizzy, and cause some unusual behaviour! It may be necessary to force-quit the Tapestry app and restart it in these situations to restore normality. In this tutorial we will look at how you can force-quit the app for iOS (Apple) and Android/Amazon Fire devices. We'll start with iOS. To skip to the section for Android devices, click here. iOS Apple devices have a nice straight-forward way of force-quitting. You just need to double click the home button below the screen, the one with the little square on it and then a list of ru…

If you are a manager, or a full account/PIN only staff member who is allowed to see all children, you can set the page filters across Tapestry show you results only for your key children by default. If you turn this on then the results shown on the main tabs, such as the observations list and children page, will only relate to your key children. When you make observations on the browser however, all of the children will still show up as possible to add, but your key children will be in a separate section at the top of the list (see the screenshot below for an example of this). If you set this without having any key children assigned to you, …

You can upload child and staff details onto Tapestry via CSV file, which is a type of excel sheet. This is a quick guide to show you what the excel documents for children and staff imports will look like and how to create a CSV file from a standard excel file. Below are examples of the excel sheets with all the titles of the fields Tapestry will ask for for each of the child and staff imports. It is really important that you add the field headings into the CSV file - otherwise you will lose the first child/staff member when importing the document. Please note that it's easier to have two data sheets - one for children and one for staff. You can put them both on …

This tutorial will take you through the setup process for the KS1 and 2 frameworks on Tapestry. They can be adapted to suit your own school’s requirements, so it's important that you have a quick read through this first to make sure they work for you. Okay, so onto what we're here for! The first thing that it is really important you do is make sure the framework is activated and labelled to your preference. With that in mind, please go to your Control Panel (1), Settings (2), then Assessments (3), then scroll down the page (4) Scroll down until you get to the Key Stage frameworks and then click on the 'Configure' button. You will be abl…

The user permissions on Tapestry are how you can set what staff can see and do on your account. Before you set these, you will firstly need to add staff to your Tapestry account. Once you do this you will then able to set permissions to either apply to all staff or you can set different permissions for individual staff members. To add staff members to your Tapestry account you can use the links below: Adding Staff to Tapestry Creating a CSV file Adding Staff via a CSV file To then set up permissions you will need to go to the Control Panel by clicking on your name in the top right-hand corner (1) and selecting ‘Control Panel’ from the…

You can collate and export all media (photos, videos and other attached files) from all observations of a child in bulk! These can be set to be downloadable for staff and/or relatives as ZIP files.
