I wonder if it would be helpful on the analysis page to use the wording 'not applicable' against an area rather than 'not assessed' as there are certain areas, such as 'writing' and 'UTW' where there are no specific assessments until a later age group. At the moment it looks as if I haven't assessed my 14m old for those areas, whereas in fact it is not really applicable to their age at the moment. I think for parents seeing it on a report it would look better than not assessed,

Hi, We have a number of children whose parents do not want an online Learning journal. It is very time consuming operating two systems so my headteacher wondered if there is any way we could add observations but not have these online so there is no risk of anyone accessing the journals online. Thanks

Tag all repeated statements

Would it be possible to automatically tag all of the replica statements in other areas of learning if you click on one? For example if you click on hear and say initial sounds in Reading it will come up in Writing too. I believe there are also some replicas in EMM and MH.

Hello, I was just wondering for a future development, is there a way of allowing a search tool to be added to the tapestry app when adding an observation and selecting the childs name? Most of the adults in my setting have 60 children that they can observe (two Reception classes) and we think it would save a bit of time typing the beginning initial of the child's name and selecting the pupil rather than scrolling through trying to find them. Kind Regards Rosi

This is a bit of an odd request but we think it would be useful to be able to schedule observations to be uploaded at a future point. Purely for things like reminders to parents and information like that. I realise it would probably be a lot of faff for a small return when children's observations would not be known to do in the future but I thought I would add my idea anyway!

A Calendar/Pop up Reminder Messages/To do list function for each child/setting e.g. perhaps a summative assessment or 2 year old progress check is due for a particular child and date e.g. linked to birthday. I think this would help to streamline and manage input into Tapestry as a whole and aid with a setting’s forward planning in respect to the EYFS – a manager’s dream! Many thanks and keep up the good work.

Useful Pupil Progress Tracking
by Guest- 6 replies

I want to be able to use Tapestry for useful pupil progress tracking and data analysis. In order to do this I would need the Baseline information displayed on the age band tracker. Unofrtunately, because it estimates, I'm finding the age band tracker not as useful as it could be when looking at pupil progress. The Baseline screen, as it is just a spreadsheet, provides me with none of the percentages that I need when looking at pupil progress. The age band tracker is a better screen format, but because it estimates, is inaccurate. Could you add the Baseline information and each term's summative information to the age band tracker in a 'step tracker' fo…

Hi there, We are new to Tapestry and my team understandably.. keep asking me questions... Can I ask how many observations are needed for Tapestry to generate a refinement of 'Emerging, Developing or Secure'? Some of my team are uploading over 20 observations and some only 5. How do you lovely people use Tapestry? Do you take photos and type notes or do you take the photo, jot a few notes down and then type up at a later date? We are trying to move away from all those post it notes around the classroom but finding it hard to work out the best way of remembering the comments children may have made during the activity. We cant spend all day typing when we shoul…

Hello, I am finding there are times during the day when I need to collect a selection of pictures for a range of different children at the same time (e.g. whole class individual images during phonics to capture their writing). At the moment I am having to come out of tapestry to use the iPad camera and then log back in to upload them. I am finding I am forever switching between the app and the camera. I was wondering if it could be possible that when we take a photo on tapestry it can hold them in the app and then attach them to a child's observation later in the day (can the photos be held here, please see attached photo). At the moment if we take a photo on the …

Hi Is this still on the list to do? As a Tapestry user for a few years now its still something that I would find very useful especially for appraisals and supervisions. Although there is the number of obs published feature this includes those from parents so we find it misleading. Many thanks Donna
