Now live is an update to the 'Filter & Sort Observations' function on the web browser version of Tapestry allowing you to filter your displayed observations by group observation (observations that have more than one child attached to them) for the first time. On your Observations tab and Assessments tab in the Observations section you can now specifically filter by group observations, the three new filtering options are under the heading 'Group Observations'. 'Include Group Observations' is the default setting, and group observations will be displayed if they meet your other filtering criteria. All other filters being the same, this will display results in t…

As we add more functionality to Tapestry we want to make sure that the system remains user friendly, and navigating to tracking screens and accessing features doesn't get too buried under a ton of pages & clicks. The idea is to group features by assessment framework. The first step forwards was to group all of the snapshots and analysis screens under each framework within 'tracking'. We have now started tackling the 'setting overview' section, found in tracking > general > setting overview, to make it more user friendly. These are the changes that have been made: We have moved the EYFS pie chart that shows how many observations have been made pe…

From now on, you will be able to attach and detach entire groups of children as key children to your staff members from control panel > manage staff > manage key children > edit relationship by the corresponding staff member > groups. This feature will allow you to use the groups that you created from 'manage groups' to attach the children in that group to one member of staff as key children in a much quicker way, rather than having to do so one child at a time. You will also be able to detach entire groups with just one click.

As we hope you are aware, people have a right to access personal data you store about them free of charge and without delay. Therefore, you must provide people with a copy of the data stored about them if they request it. To help you to comply with a subject access request, we can now provide you with a ZIP file of all the data stored in Tapestry about a particular child, relative or staff member. To learn how to do this on Tapestry, you just need to follow this tutorial here.

Managers on Tapestry will now be able to see the new 'Data Protection' tab from their Control Panel. This tab was designed to give you helpful information about data protection on Tapestry, for example about your legal basis using Tapestry. As well as this we have also included lots of helpful links on there, including to tutorials we have made to talk you through what to do in certain scenarios we have found some of our customers have come across. We would highly recommend having a look at this tab to ensure you understand what is required of you regarding data protection and Tapestry.

From now on, you will be able to include reports made for a child in the PDF journal exports. These will be included after the observations, and will be categorised as 'Reports' in the contents list. Note that only those reports created within the PDF's date range will be exported alongside the journal. Also, if the PDF is exported for relatives, only the reports that have been granted relative access will be included. You will also be able to export reports in bulk by unselecting all of the options for observations within the original export form, accessible from the 'manage children' section.

When looking at the 'Downloads' section within the control panel you can now see whether each file has been downloaded. That will apply to managers for all files (to see exactly which manager you will need to look at the history) and to relatives when the recipient of the file has been set to 'relative'.

Managers on Tapestry may have noticed that the formerly known 'Events' section within the Control Panel has now had it's name changed to 'History'. The reason behind this is we wanted to make clearer that this is where you can find a history of things done on your account. If you want to learn how to use this section within Tapestry, you can read this tutorial here.

We are now asking all settings to review and agree to the final version of our contract that we have updated in light of the GDPR coming into affect this month. This is just to be more clear about what we do and how we can work together to be compliant. A manager can do this for your setting by logging in to the browser version of Tapestry and if you haven't already signed this, you will see a banner at the top of the page with a link asking you to do so. So you keep up-to-date with any contract changes we have also added a 'Contracts' section to the Control Panel where you can see any previous contracts and if any actions are required with any of the contracts.
