I raised a question with County (feee department) about being able to charge parents for their child's Learning Journal two weeks ago as we are trying to cover costs in these hard times. I am pleased to say, they have said we can. At first, I was told it was consumables, i.e. meals, nappies only that we could charge for. I highlighted that no where in the EYFS does it state we have to provide a Learning Journal. Ofsted only need to see progress, and I can print this off via snapshots and give this to parents. Our funding is reliant on producing 2 progress summaries a year, which we do and therefore, we are meeting requirements. I also pointed out, our tapestry …

ok I have a few parents still not using tapestry (bad parents....bad bad parents ::1a ) I have checked their emails (again) and would like to resend a link. Now daft question do I resend them the first option (password reset?) or the second (send link?)

Hi everyone, There is a change coming to Tapestry regarding the way some of the scores in the Analysis section are calculated which we want to let you know about. This change only relates to whether children are seen as reaching their age-related expectations in the Analysis section of Tapestry (but not Snapshots) when the child has been assessed as 40-60+ and has been given a refinement. It follows on from another change that we made at the very end of last year. We are planning to make it live on Tapestry early next week (week beginning the 20th of March). Hi We have been using Tapestry for a couple of years now and love it! Currently we use our first two weeks of observations to generate a baseline for a new child but at our recent Ofsted inspection we were advised that we really needed a 'day one' baseline from the parents' assessment of their child's learning and development. Our inspector told us that she had seen this done successfully on Tapestry and just labelled 'Parents baseline'. My question is, if anyone does this, what happens if a parent overestimates their child's abilities? Does your progress show them going backwards from their baseline? Or do you enter the parent baseline as a report and…

Hi We have parents on tapestry but for parents who have separated, we have given additional parental agreements but some parents we don't see, those parents have told us - its okay we share the log in details. Does anyone else have this issue? or what does anyone else do about situations like this? Also how can I change the staff members name on a report created? Staff have wrote reports up in notes and someone typed them into tapestry but it is now not in the key persons name, can you change this like you do on the observations? Thanks

Hi all, After what seems like hours of watching tutorial videos I thought I'd come and ask you very knowledgeable people about a couple of things! I am trying to add Summer 15/16 data on for each child, then our Autumn 16/17 and soon Spring 16/17 data...I can't fathom how to do it! I've been onto 'Snapshots', 'Baseline' (to add a baseline for a new child), but can't work out how to add the data for children who have been with us longer (where the Summer 15/16 data is not their baseline assessment). Is it 'Snapshots', 'Summative' and then select the correct period (Summer, Spring etc) and if so, how do I then view that information I have put on? (I *thought* I had …
