Good day I am Lisa a third year student at the University of Reading and I have been tasked to interview family support workers. To establish your role and responsibilities. It would help in gaining an in-depth perspective of your role and the bespoke work you carry out which positively impacts the lives of young children and their family. i would also like to gain further understanding of what support is in place and legislations you have to follow to carry out your job but most importantly what are some of the barriers you face within your job role or when working with other agencies? Examples can be given but they must be hypothetical; meaning the use…

Comment below or copy them across into a message and send it my way. cr9599r@greenwich.ac.uk 1) How much time do you think you expend on a) planning and b) setting up the role play area? 2) If you could make any changes to the role play areas in your setting, what would they be? …

Hello everyone, I wanted to try to gauge how people feel about children being involved in research? So I am thinking along the lines of the 3rd year BA(hons) dissertation or action research project - what do we think about how children can be participants in the research? How is this valid? How reliable is it? Has much research been carried out like this? Are there disadvantages or disadvantages - I was delivering some training around this and it provoked quite a heated debate/discussion, mostly based around how accurate results would be. It was insightful and most of the contributors of the debate seemed to think not enough data could be gathered, a guess we …

Later on in the year I am delivering a SCITT session on play. I would like to give the students (some of which will have had little experience of EYFS) the opportunity to play themselves. I thought about each group having a play box/bag with open ended resources in or play activities to do....and then my brainwave stopped! I thought it would be good for them to actually play and then think about all the learning that took place. So far I have thought about: a box containing things to make fruit kebabs; a den making box; a bag of junk materials for modelling. I'd appreciate any good ideas people have to add, thanks.
