Teacher's Tv

Did anyone else realise that it is Early Years Week on Teacher's TV this week??? I don't normally watch it to be honest as it's normally about children older than I work with but last night, I watched an interesting programme about the balance of Child Initiated and Adult Led activities which was really good. Even though it was aimed at Reception teachers, it gave me more of an insight into this area.

A couple of years ago we had some pencil crayons from Spectrum Education. They had really soft leads so that even the lightest touch left a mark. Great for beginner mark makers. However they are now worn to too short to be useful and I can't find them again. Any suggestions either how to contact Spectrum or what other brands might be as good. Al

Preschool Visits

As an NQT beginning a career in September teaching Reception, I am filled with excitment and the human condition of doubts and questions raised from being 'green'! I am visiting all the preschool settings in the next couple of weeks to meet the children coming into my year. This is followed by a parents evening (with children) to register and meet me, allowing for opportunities for parents to raise any concerns or questions. I'm really excited about meeting the children and terrified bout having the sufficient knowledge and experience to answer questions confidently! The school and area is new to me. There are also 2 review meetings for children with SEN that ha…
