Can anyone suggest a more hygenic alternative to normal carpet for our quiet area. We are in a village hall and have to clear away each day. Normal carpet gets very dusty, quickly and does not always seem that hygenic. I need something easy to put away, that will go out flat, so nobody trips over it and is easy to clean. Is there such a thing ?? Please help glen

Volunteers

I am interested in exploring ways of supporting Early Years practitioners who do, or would like to, encourge volunteering, particularly in areas of multiple deprivation. Volunteers could be parents or carers, but would not have to be and the work could be directly with children, but would not have to be. All ideas will be gratefully received and will be responded to. I am looking forward to hearing from you

We've recently done some fundraising in our Nursery and had hoped to buy some large scale construction for our outdoor area (set containing blocks, planks, etc). I have had a look on the community playthings website as their large wooden blocks are the sort of thing that we were after. However, our money does not go a long way! The smallest set, which only contains 17 pieces is £285. The class set, which we would ideally like is £870. Unfortunately, this is way over what we can afford. I just wondered what other settings use for large scale construction. I've had a quick look through several educational catalogues, but haven't found anything different. We already…

Dance

I just wondered what other people did for Reception/ FSU dancing sessions. We had BBC old scheme, Let's move' which when we did it was mostly strory based and very little movement - it felt like we were getting changed for PE to sit in a circle and wiggle our fingers!! I now use Disney music and make up dances or get the children to make them up but it lacks structure at times and obviously there are no detailed plans - I would be intersted to hear of what you use and hope you can share some good ideas for resources/activities. Thanks!
