Pencil Control Sheets

Hi, Are there any online sites where I can download some pencil control sheets to laminate (you know, the wiggly lines, spirals, patterns etc) or does anyone have any I could download. I have loads of them - unfortunately they are all still in storage until we get our house built so I am reluctant to buy more Would be very grateful If not I'll have to design some of my own but they never look as good. Thanks, Megsmum

Phonics - Can Anyone Help?
by Guest- 1 reply

Hi all, I use the Jolly Phonics as a basis for my planning, but just wondered if you have any more creative ways of teaching phonics? I have rhymes, finger puppets, letter fans and we also make lots of cutting and pasting activities - but none of these are very exciting for the children. We have a class of 36 reception children altogether - 24 in one room and 12 in my room. My 12 are joined by 4 Y1s who need more practical experiences! I've only been teaching reception since January and as I have the smaller group of children who need much more repetition, I'm running out of ideas. Any thoughts? Thanks everyone, Viki

having some ELC s left we found a way to spend them which has proved to be very useful, in Play and learn resource packs. they cover several topics, we have the Ourselves pack, and contain a book of ideas, a video and a DVD of real situations such as going to the dentist, optician, hairdresser, beautician, as well as one on blindness, showing it in a positive light and explaining how everyday tasks like making a cup of tea or doing the washing can be achieved. Also included is a Cd of songs (which we have yet to use). we found this from Pink Cow and also have a cd rom bought seperately to go with the topic which has simple games . theme packs If you a…

Wood Work
by Guest- 26 replies

I have read a few mentions on here of people who have a wood work area with children using saws etc.. If we tried to do this is our classroom our health and safety co-ordinator would have a cardiac arrest for sure!!! How do people supervise this area? As much info on your wood work areas as possible would be great so that i can be fully armed when i go and approach him about including a wood work area in our classroom Lola.
