Outdoor Play

Hello everyone, Just wondering if anyone is able to share any of their outdoor play ideas. We are currently trying to develop our Foundation outdoor play area and our year 1 and 2 outdoor play area. At present they do not plan for outdoor play in the Foundation outdoor area and they do not operate an open door policy because they do not have any sheltered areas attatched to the classrooms if the weather was not good. The foundation outdoor area just has a lovely expensive climbing frame and a small wendy house with loads of concrete and grass areas and a couple of bushes. Paper For Painting
by Guest- 5 replies

Can anyone help me? The company I have used for years to order my painting paper has changed so that they will not accept orders from customers who spend less than £1000 a year with them ie they are no longer interested in small pre-schools such as mine. Searching the catalogues I can 't find anyone else who does newsprint of a suitable size for easels in 500 sheet packs. Where do you all get your painting paper from? Our children usually produce around 15-20 paintings a day so I need a cheap supply!

This has been highlighted in the March edition of Practical Professional Child Care and thought it may be of interest. I haven't had time to really look through it, but it has food planning according to food groups, menus, dietary needs, special needs, involving parents .... See what you think! (and why is it that Scotland are always one step ahead of England?) Nutritional_Guidance_for_Early_Years.pdf

I was wondering if anybody has seen the white blank dice that enable you to use a dry wipe pen to write on and rub off. We had them in my previous school but can't remember where they came from. They were considerably larger than your standard dice. Finger's crossed that somebody will know where we can purchase some.

What are peoples opinions of the series 'The Little Book of...'? I have seen the front covers on a flyer but wanted to know a bit more - particularly the parachute one, the outdoor ones and the circle time one. Thanks Megsmum
