I am very impressed when people make a link to another web site - can anyone do it or only special people - I haven't been able to work it out yet. Can someone give me some instructions please?

Hello everyone, Can I pick your brains about things that work well for organising going home time (I'm in a Reception class)? This is always tricky for me - I'd especially love to hear if anyone's got a good song for the end of the day, but am not happy with the routines & structure in general for going home time!! Please share all the fab things you do Dianne xxx

Interesting Cars - Where To Buy?
by Guest- 4 replies

We would like to replace some of our tired old collection of cars for small world play at our preschool with some interesting new ones. We are looking for a variety of emergency vehicles (police cars, fire engine, ambulance), construction vehicles (diggers, JCBs cranes etc) and ordinary cars of various sorts - delivery vans, people movers, post vans, sports cars, saloons, estates. Probably about 20 - 30 cars in all. We prefer realistic die cast metal cars to plastic ones. Has any out there recently bought anything like that? Where is a good place to look? We've looked in our educational catalogues and they have very boring selections of cars. Carolyn

Reading

I wonder if anybody could help. I have a little boy in my class who is 6. He has repeated reception this year. I am concerned about his reading development. He is still not able to recognise any sight words even though his mother tells me how well he is doing at home. His mother puts a lot of pressure on him and i wonder if this could have an effect. I have tried word games such as lotto, snap and have let him make the words out of playdough. He has a very short attention span and finds it difficult to make eye contact. I am not sure what to try next. Can anybody help?

I have been trying to get tyres to put in our garden for ages, after hearing what a wonderful resource they are.... now i have just been given a tractor tyre, two truck tyres and some car tyres but i am not quite sure what to do with them!! We are a private day nursery with a large garden, we have a climbing frame and swings in one area, a small concrete patch and all the rest is grass. I would be very grateful of any ideas or tips anyone may have. Thank you in anticipation

Hi! I want to make playdough with the children and always follow the same recipie (flour/salt/cream of tartar/water/food colour) but sometimes have sucess but have many times failed and ended up with a sticky mess that wont comes off fingers !! Its nothing to do with how long I'm cooking it for because I can't seem to keep it in the pan for any longer once its come away from the sides. Someone once told me that green food colouring =disaster. Surely this can't be true? Hi, We are receiving an increasing number of books and resources for review on this site, and wondered if any full subscribing members would like to be part of our reviewers group? If you'd like to receive a copy of the following titles, PM Helen, giving the address to send it to. You will of course, get to keep the book! Time limits are fairly loose, but we would expect to receive your review within a couple of months or so. If you want to get an idea of what a review should look like, take a look in the Resources section. Product reviews are lengthier, and so far have been books and products that have been highly thought of. The recommended section is, well, recommende…
