Hi we have some money to purchase resoruces and one of the items I would like is some climbing equipment to be used outdoors. We used to have a simple wooden square climbing frame but it was really hard (and stressful) to supervise and it wasnt very inspiriing at all either. My young granddaughter whom I child mind once a week for likes to run her fingers tips over the netting on the side of the travel cot, I thought I would make her a poster for the wall of different resources, which when scraped produce a wonderful noise for her - any suggestions, have thought about one or two, such as a piece of corrugated card and a plastic strip with grooves on it, she also likes the sound of her silky puffer jacket when she scratches that.

Does anyone know where I can get some of these little wooden disks and stumps from? I know they are probably easy enough to make but I wouldn't know where to start or who to ask. Can you buy them?

Hi, I am trying to think of other examples of legislation and how there can be conflicts specifically concerning safeguarding. One example I gave, trying to cater to the child's well-being and development when noticiing through observations that a child might have additional needs and the parents not accepting this and not taking up the option of help for the child. Children's Act 1989 states parents have their rights and therefore a practitioners hands are somewhat tied when trying to provide for the child. Does anybody know of any other conflicting situations regarding any safeguarding issue. Thanks...ps 1st post. himum

Anyone have any good ideas about using an artist as a starting point then letting children have various resources to create their interpretation. Thought of Monet, Van Gogh so far.
