I just wondered if everyone had seen the fundraising scheme being operated by HOPE Education using petits filous yogurt lids?. Although not keen on branded promotions this seems really good and as lots of our children already bring this brand of yogurt in their lunchboxes I thought I might give it a go. 1. sign up at www.potsmakepounds.co.uk 2. collect lids -each one is worth 2p 3. send them in by 31.7.2012 4. receive money back voucher 5. spend on anything in the catalogue

OK so have tried Tesco, Toys R Us, Early Learning Centre, Galt, NES Arnold, Ebay, Amazon and no joy with finding penguins, polar bears, walrus, seals. I want to put these into the sand tray - have managed to buy the Inuit set and have a few very small plastic animals from the £1 shop but cannot seem to get them there now. It is frustrating!

I have been looking at castles etc from Kid-Eco and wondered whether anyone has bought anything from them? I am a pack away setting and can't leave anything out - is it easy to dismantle everything and rebuild next morning? I realise that by doing this it won't last as long - what do you think??? Also if the children paint them do they soften (the structure - not the children!!!!) Thanks in advance for any advice/tips. Sue J

Hi Could anybody suggest where I could buy some individual hand-held mirrors for children, to enable them to look at their faces when making happy, sad, angry faces etc. Thanks Deb

Saddo that I am, I have been saving the polystyrene bases which pizzas sit on for quite some time, now have enough for a little starry activity with them. Do you think normal liquid paint will stick to the polystyrene, maybe with some pva in it, or should I get something else, or only collage the stars with as much glittery trash as we can lay our hands on. They are quite large stars, well some of them are!

Hi all Its that time of year when christmas displays are getting put up in the classrooms and corridors etc. As you are all aware EYFS displays are different compared to the rest of the school. I have a large corridor display board outside my classroom and my idea for a display is to split the board in to the 6 different areas and display childrens work e.g. photographs of them taking part in christmas role-play, decorating the christmas tree, making snowman pictures, baking cakes, angels for on top of the tree, etc etc. are there any other suggestions for the display that anyone can give me or do you think i am on the right track???? thanks kate

We have a child just joined out setting who is showing signs of ASD, they have very little language and the Language which they have is very repetative. I would like to make a information booklet for all the parents with ideas on how to help their child develop language at home as a few parents have asked me for this information in the past. If anyone has a information booklet which I can use I would be a very happy girl I would also like to ask your advice on how you would apporach the parents about the child who I have concerns about, they have only been at the setting for a week but they are due to start main stream school in January 2012. thank you in Advanc…

Hi, have any of you used fake snow and if so what did you and the children think of it and where did you get it from? Used several years ago and not impressed just wondering if it has improved over the years. Thanks Joanne

We have had a set of large rubber stamps for years! They are possibly as big as 3" square and have simple Christmas pictures on. Every year I have used them to hand make the cards we give to the children. One stamp per card on black card, coloured in with metallic pens. Simple, effective and a really therapeutic thing to do in the evening Last year they were a bit dodgy and I had to guess the edges on a lot of them This year is even worse as I can't find them No problem I thought, we're due another set, I'll buy some. Now you may know I am a dab hand at googling but I can't find anything like them :'( I found a site that does some similarish but they are the ones …
