Hello all, I'm after some advice in regard to the wonderful wooden blocks- I am desperate to use my EYP funding to buy some blocks but I am the only person in my setting who is familiar with them and the value of block play so cannot simply go ahead and buy them! My transformation funding for foundation degree was meant to be used to buy some but a few of the committee disagreed with such an extreme spending of money, however now I have the support of the leader who sees how passionate I am about them but training is a must...the money for EYP needs no regulating by external folks unlike TF so as yet it hasn't really been spent except for few sessions cover for myself and…

Schemas

Hi! I had to prepare a handout on Schemas for staff and parents. Unfortunately, the manager at my setting was constantly busy, and so my work placement ended before I could get any feedback. So in lieu of that, could you guys please have a look and tell me what you think? It's basically a one pager (didn't want to be too long winded) briefly explaining schemas, followed by the tables off the Dorset website (http://212.104.140.176/index.jsp?articleid=357248) which I felt would be useful for practitioners who'd like to incorporate schemas into their planning. Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone could recommend any large construction toys that you use in your outdoor area. My headteacher has kindly given me some money to spend on outdoor equipment and construction is an area we need to develop. I dont really know where to start looking. Thank you in advance

Hi Does anybody know where we can buy any numbers for outdoors? Natural materials preferably to link with our naturalish play area. I guess I could take a trip to a hardware shop for numbers for doors etc, not sure if that would provide the correct number 4 though. We have the money, I would like something enduring.

Hi guys next term i am doing nursery rhymes as my topic. I have thought about doing Mary Mary as my chn are quite into growing things at the moment. So far over the course of two weeks, i have thought about setting up a gardening centre outside with a variety of flowers, Grow seeds and plant them on different days like a timeline, investigate how seeds need light and water to grow by leaving some seeds in the dark and see if they grow. Any other ideas i would be really grateful xxxx
