Hi everyone Can I just ask what people do on their displays. We have been told to steer away from making a big thing of displays and use them mainly to display photographic evidence of children's learning along with children's work. Is this what others do? thanks Kate

Hi could I please have some suggestions on how I can collect evidence for standard 22 in the eyps standards please. 'Give constructive and sensitive feedback to help children understand what they have achieved and think about what they need to do next and, when appropriate, encourage children to think, evaluate and improve on their own performance. 1 piece of evidence will be met when they speak to one of my witnesses but I still need another one.

Investigative Area

Hi I am looking at developing the investigative area in my nursery. At the moment we have a moveable shelving unit with wicker baskets on it which contain things like shells, pine cones, dusters brushes etc. I want it to be somewhere where the children want to go and investigate in there. At the moment they use it for role play or reading books. Any ideas would be great. Thanks Vicki

I used to have some cardboard room dividers. Each side had a shaped hole as a window. I think we bought them from NES but I cant find them there now. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? They were a pack of 2 for around £20 a few years ago.

In this area all training is now in the evening (maybe it is everywhere?) and I can see how that might make sense to some. Problem is I am not really in a position to ask many, if any of my staff to give up their evenings to go. We have the ones who can't drive, the ones without babysitting, the ones who have enough problems (husband walked out and mother died suddenly), ill health and the ones who just do things with their children and families on the eveings the courses are on. Is it really unreasonable to say that I don't want to hassle them more when I do nothing but hassle them all day and every one of them has been working their fingers to the bone to try to get…

Role Play- Babies, Mums And Dads

Not sure where to put this so here goes. I have a group of girls in Nursery who play with the prams and buggies all session if possible. They spend all session walking up and down the garden, stopping occassionally to dabble in the sand or write something but always with the doll tucked under one arm. They continually argue over who has which baby or buggy. I am struggling to think of ways to extend their play. Does anyone have any ideas at all? Thanks
