A New Baby Sister
by Guest- 1 reply

Hi I'd like to plan a session for a boy (aged 3) who has a new baby sister. I have thought about introducing it by reading a book 'New Baby' by V Bloom, D Axtell. I will ask Mum to bring in some baby photos and encourage him to talk about them with the children in a group session. I know he is at a comfortable stage to do this as he brought in a 'Big Bro' medal and I asked him to talk about it with the children, which he did confidently. The girls love having the prams dolls, clothing etc out at the moment so it would be a 'hit' with them! But I'd like activity ideas for the boys. I was thinking of providing them with a catalogue and getting them to cut and stick…

Team Games

I'm stuck for planning inspiration! I'd like to get my reception children playing some moving about team type games rather than ones when they are quite stationary (like Duck Duck Goose). The only one I can think of is when you have small cones and 1 team runs round putting them upside down and the other runs around turing them the right way up. Has anyone got any other ideas? Thanks

Cll For Low Ability

Please can you help, How do you plan CLL for your less able? I am really frustrated as every time I come to plan CLL I struggle to think of activities for my Low Ability. I am concerned because this specific group of children do not recognise any letters and therefore have not began to write. I usually base my planning around stories and find it easy to plan for the MA/ HA but when it comes to the LA I feel like I'm doing a bad job as I usually plan for them to do speaking and listening exercises, shared writing and CD actiivities. How do i get them to start writing Thank you for your advice Love a concerned Sarah

Story Sack And Small World

I'm hoping we might be able to buy some resources to make fairy tale story sacks and also some small world figures such as knights, princesses, dragons, ordinary people, firefighters, policemen, animals etc. Does anyone know of any good suppliers of these things or any ordinary places where will be able to get some cheap, particularly the story sacks as they all seem to be horredously expensive!
