I Have inherited a brand new set of story phone mp3 players, I set them up today with a lot of hassle after finding out that a) the software I had was out of date b) the company who produced the online library has gone bust in 2013! so after finding online set up etc I have managed to download some songs and stories to the head sets. I understand you can use the hand held part to record onto, but the instructions are non existent! so I wondering if any of you lovely people could give me some ideas other than stories and songs to use them for. Thanks in advance x

There's a thread on Mumsnet at the moment about this which includes some teachers saying they use it and have never been aware of the problem. http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1745141-AIBU-to-ask-my-sons-nursery-to-stop-using-Sparklebox-resources?pg=1 Can anyone share any LA or EYA advice they have received about this? Is it seriously still being run by a convicted paedophile who was using malware to get photos of children through the site? I haven't clicked on the site itself because I certainly don't want to give them any extra revenue.

Hi everyone we were observed today by our head and she picked up on (somrthing i have noticed myself) that the children are not really visiting the reading area and she has asked me to make it more of a WOW factor! she did suggest adding more books. I have at the moment two rows of books, puppets, cushions and story sacks, i took a lot of books away because i found the children were not using them properly even though we would sit with them on a regular basis and model how to read the books, they would get thrown on the floor and stood on. I tried the less is more approach but not the children have little interest. does anyone have any ideas to create a WOW area out…

Hello Everyone. Just wondering if any of you Tapestry users have given company Ipads/tablets to any of your employees? What user agreement did you draw up with them? How do you protect data? Etc. I am about to give a device to my deputy manager and would like to make sure that all corners are covered!! Thanks H x

We have no problems with promoting diversity even though we are 100% white British! however the inspector picked us up on lack of promoting disabilities so I'm after ideas of how you do this please, besides posters and small world figures as we already have these. Thanks

came across this on Facebook and thought it may be useful to some for home use as well as settings... http://www.dyslexiefont.com/en/dyslexia-font/ research has shown that this font can help read text faster and with fewer errors.. developed by a dyslexic as a thesis and now available, many have commented on how surprising it is to use .. maybe worth a look?

Does anyone have Numicon in their nursery? Couple of questions - I have looked at various sets - what is best for our 2-5 year old group? How well used is it in your setting? Is it adult led only? Do you feel it's worth it, as its quite expensive? Maths is everywhere in our setting. We pride ourselves on this aspect but I've been thinking of buying this resource for a while. I need some advice from those that have used it , so can you let me know what you think please. Thanks. V
