Help? My foundation Stage is part of an independent school. Does the FS need its own Designated person for Safeguarding purposes in addition to the school person? The Independent Schools Inspectorate say that Early Years must have a designated practioner for safeguarding children within the stting but its not clear of this means just within the Early Years of Whole school. Does anyone know? Annie x

I went onto the NES Arnold site to buy mats for under our climbing frame. Thought I should have a look to see if anything else took my fancy. Found some boomwhackers which I have been meaning to buy for ages. But they have two types: diatonic (£15) and and chromatic (£10). I have not a musical bone in my body so I need to know what is the difference (in words of one syllable, please) so I can decide which I need to buy. Here's a link! Thanks in advance! Maz

Choosing Cards
by Guest- 6 replies
- 1.6k views
Just thought I'd share these since I've had so many resources from others on here. (I think I've manage to attach!) I've photographed or used catalogue pics of most of our resources to make cards showing a small selection for children to choose from - we are pack away so tend not to have everything out but children can always ask for something that is not out. On the back of the cards are some learning matters, things to be aware of for that particular item, ideas for using it as prompts for adults. It's still a work in progress, not all the words are complete yet but you'll get the idea. Hope its of use to someone. Al picture_inventory.xls

Items For Sale

Hi all Due to a decline in the numbers of children attending my pre-school it, sadly, had to close at the beginning of the summer holiday. I have had a lot of resources to sell and have been given permission to post the link below showing the items i have left. They have been lovingly played with and it would be nice if they could go to pre-schools, nurseries, childminders etc and of course parents, where children will still enjoy playing with them. Please take a look and feel free to contact me for further details if you are interested in anything. My email address is ............................ and i live in Staffordshire. http://s273.photobucket.com/albu…

Eyps Qualification Level
by Guest- 15 replies

Hi, I've been told before that an EYPS qualification counts as a Level 4 (or 5, please feel free to clarify this for me) qualification. Does this mean that if a job ad says NVQ 2/3 required, I would be a suitable candidate for the job? And being a candidate is one thing, but realistically, would you rather hire an experienced NVQ 2/3, or someone who's an EYPS but has limited experience outside of the course.
