I have been thinking about buying community blocks for the pre-school but am undecided about which ones to buy. I know that I will have to decide whether to buy Pre-school or Introductory size packages. We are a packaway setting and would need to buy the set with a trolley of some sort. We have up tp 26 children a session and i don't want to buy a set that is too small but on the other hand I have to pack it all away daily. I noticed that there are shelving units as well, have they got castors? I have sent for a catalogue and have just looked online for information. I just wondered whether you have any advice please???? I need to plan a poetry writing session for a family group of 30 children from Reception to year 6. I'm looking for a great poem that the teacher can read to this group and that all the children will be able to respond to at their level. The Magic Box by Kit Wright would work really well as children would need to think of what they would put in their magic box and use vocabulary at their level / draw pictures / decorate boxes etc - but I don't know if there's a single class in the school that han't used this poem before!! Any ideas for really accessible poems that can be differentiated interestingly and effectively?

Hi. I am looking to buy some waterproof clothing for our children to enable more outdoor play. I have a few questions that I hope someone can answer... Are the sets for purchase in the educational supplier catalogues simply shower-proof or are they water-proof? I don't want to invest in 24 sets only to have the children come back in soggy underneath. I really want to get a set that stands up to a decent downpour (obviously not torrential!) Do you find that top and bottoms work better than all-in-ones? Did you find the sizing of them reasonable, too big or too small? I know it's a bit of a risk anyway but I'd rather be well-informed berforehand. And last…

I am thinking of making scrapbooks with the children that would include photos taken at the nursery and the parents could take them home to add to aswell as an extra to there observations folders.......but i cant seem to find cheap-ish scrapbooks anywhere!! I'm gonna need 40 of them to start of with, so the cheaper the better...where do you get yours from??

I though people might be interested I ordered some large (65cm) puppets from HTS- Scotland they are all made by the Puppet co but a fraction of the price I've seen them on other sites Large Mermaid for example was £49.50 from Puppets by Post and I paid £16.50 P&P is free stock of the large puppets seems limited - they have character puppets and the elf puppet I bought but worth a look. I also got some fairy finger puppets at half the price of other sites.

Our Foundation topic for next term is 'Australia' Does anyone have any great ideas or suggestions for links etc? I've noticed the around the world topic on FSF but none relate to Australia. I've thought of the obvious ones such as Aboriginasl art, animals, comparing our climate to Australia. I also thought in the sand area could create Ayres Rock using orange sand. Any other suggestion wiould be much appreciated. Thanks you guys xx

Out Door Storage

Hello, We're just having a reception outdoor area made (hooray), so now we're looking for storage. We have a shed to put everything in each night, but I need some kind of shelves / rack I can get out and put our sand toys in - about 6 baskets of things. I thought a couple of vegetable racks might do it but I can't find anything suitable. I've tried B&Q, Argos etc. Any ideas anyone?
